Definitely will try this out. I was practicing ITF taekwondo once upon a time. But due to some issues with my school, they stopped it for us. You are actually still making me still keep in touch with ITF taekwondo. Thank you so much for your tutorials. Keep making great videos like this.

It seems like a pretty Useful video if you ask me 💕✌ I didn't try to inject it into my comeback Routine yet (because I haven't been practicing since a very long time), but it seems that you targeted both the Front and Middle Split all together and tackling the Transition between them both as well if I understood it correctly.

seems there is always warm ups for warm ups... Do you do these 'warm ups' from cold or do you have to do other warm ups before these to get started? Also is riding an excercise bike before using a stretch machine considered a 'warm up' or even a warm shower?
@SimonScher Жыл бұрын
Good question! I do these warm ups from cold. I would advise a warm up that engages the whole body in dynamic motion. Like jumping jacks, burpees. Plank jacks, sparring… but bike riding is better than nothing. A warm shower isn’t a great warm up as it doesn’t trigger sarcomere movement.

@@SimonScher Excellent thanks so much.. i know this was an older video so was only half expecting an answer. I'm over 60 now and still doing the sport but flexibility and arthritis and old stuff makes it a lot harder these days.. do you think its possible for older people to get close to a full split and if so how long would it take (i assume I'd have to do a certain routine daily?) Would i get there before i die 😀😀 Thanks again for your answer. and love the fact you put the science in your answers... and one more question.. your si stretchers can they be purchased in Australia?

One thing i wanted to add to pretend beginners from overdoing it: Doing it as often as possible might not be the right way for everyone thus research still hasnt found out what way is the best. For example: i did streches every day but after 2 months i found my progress had decreased to almost 0. Then i made 1 day breaks between my streching-sessions and tadaaa: i made progress again. Meanwhile: for others it was easier to strech every day... so dont do it as often as possible in a period of TIME, rather: do it as often as it is possible for YOU.

I hurt my left hip, or pulled a groin. It has left me unable to train since Nov 2019. I am so depressed. It happened doing a front leg crescent kick. Stretching is so important, as I am learning after this injury.

oh man! no not at all. It it hurts you are doing it wrong. Pain is a warning sign that you are about to damage your body. Stretching should be uncomfortable as it is forcing your body to change and adapt but never painful.

You have natural flexibility...just that. Is not possible to add flexibility in a non flexible body. The only thing is to go to the max of potential. I am not flexible and have been doing these things and never obtained any results; not only with legs but with other parts of the body however, I have a friend that is fat, never do any stretch or sport; has about 55 years; is alcoholic etc and he can split or whatever with his body without even warm up.
@SimonScher2 жыл бұрын
That is patently untrue. The body is endlessly adaptable. It just takes more effort and time for some then others
@TheReverb12 жыл бұрын
@@SimonScher No science based anything to backup the stretching just ONLY natural flexible person like you showing the same on and on exercises that us the people that are natural non flexible do but without results except to go to the potential (the max) of the stretching.
