Hi, I'm Peter 😊. If you enjoy this video, please leave a like and subscribe to see more videos. Feel free to leave a comment or question below. More: / @peterfritzphoto . What happens when you try to shoot landscapes with just one lens? That's what happened to me the other day when I accidentally left my 14mm and my tripod in the car. It was a choice between the RF 70-200 or my RF 50mm 1.8. With the light fading fast, I chose the nifty-50, and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Thanks for some great photograph ideas Peter. This latest 5+ day lockdown is stifling my photographic endeavors. I walked for over an hour around a local reserve yesterday, so uninspired that I never pulled the camera out of my bag. You've given me some great ideas for today's walk.

Just bought a 50 mm f 1.8 canon lens to add to kit lens. Did some fun portraits yesterday with shallow depth of field which I was pleased with. After watching Peter's super video I am now going to go for a walk in the woods & try out what he did. It is a cloudy day but I live in Canada & it's fall time, so soon colours will be amazing & I will have some practice in. Thank you Peter for your inspiration from the other side of the planet!

Another good video, Peter. On a couple of occasions, I've gone into the CBD with my crop sensor camera and only a 27mm lens (the full-frame equivalent of 40mm). It's the cheapest Fuji lens I own, but it's so much fun using it.

Thanks for the video. When I shoot landscapes with only one lens, my first choice is a 65mm f/8 Fujinon wide-angle lens on a 6x9cm Fuji medium format rangefinder camera. This lens is equivalent to a 28mm lens on a “full-frame” camera.

@@paultaylorphotography9499 LOL. My very first 'assignment' came from a guy who'd just inherited a small fortune and bought himself a dirt bike magazine (Train & Track). He saw me taking photos at the local track with my Voigtlander and gave me two rolls of TRI-X 400 and said, "Show me what you can do, kid." My whole photography career began that day. I was 14. The day I went on track with 100 rolls of film was for the inaugural Philip Island Moto GP. A few shots from that weekend have since been used in Wayne Gardner's documentary.

Before leaving my native Austria I went on a bicycle tour with only two lenses: 35mm and 85mm. I think this is the ideal combination if you want to limit yourself to only two prime lenses, and I'll do the same with my mirrorless Canon. Why didn't Canon include IS in their two new RF 50mm lenses? Both 35mm f/1.8 and the 85mm f/2 have got IS, plus the macro feature on top. I am going to skip the 50mm.
@peterfritzphoto
@peterfritzphoto 2 жыл бұрын
At the end of the day, we can create magical images with anything under, say 100 mm. It’s then just a case of using our legs to compose our scene. I assume Canon didn’t include IS on the 1.8 due to weight and cost, but there must be a different reason for the 1.2. That said, they still enjoy up to 7 stops of stabilisation on the R5/6.
