Figured this out a while ago, small suggestion. Hit restart instead of surrender. Saves you an extra loading screen or two, if you're going to lose multiple games.

Are u sure restart does the same that surrender? I need confirmation of that..

​@@reikly That's how I do it, but you're welcome to test it yourself. Same rules apply, timer must be at 2:50 or lower, you don't always go down a full level per loss, believe it's actually 3 losses to lower the boss a full lvl, but enemy minis do go down a lvl a bit before that.

I've been doing this for weeks. It's so much better having quests be easy to finish. I wonder if Blizzard is eventually going to hinder this strategy. I didn't know about the 40 second threshold, though. That's good info! Thanks OG!

I just wish you could know which dungeon you are entering. Some need healing so use Tirion. Some can spam so use Murkeye. I always keep the 6 units I want to focus upgrades in Charlga. Then when there is blue quest switch to Barron to complete quest. Also if I set my lowest minis to have my worst army count then it makes Arclight surges easier.

"you just need to lose" = just waste your time. That's basically the whole strategy of blizzard; either waste your time or spend money.

Wow, I didn't know about these 40 seconds. Thanks! And I have a question about this trick - if we have Arclight Surge with 2 leaders from different fractions then we have to lower level of enemy army by losing specifically with this 2 leaders? Or 1 is just enough?

The preset surge difficulty is fixed, it is always 1 level below your army level.

You can also just use your lowest level leader. I just put in Thaurissan and it was super easy

It is not based on your Leader level as such, but your army level. Even a low-level Leader can only take maybe one level off the average army. You probably had not played much with Thaurissan, so he had a low quest modifier.

Instead of some obscure mechanic they should have made a exp modifier that determines the quest level. Also is it too much to ask to see what level und what map a quest has before you start it ? This game has so many flaws and way too little content updates - my prognose is that this will die like mercenaries did.

Dont know if you are reading the comments, but quest lvls can be 4 lvls higher than your own average lvl

Really? I have never seen them that high, but it makes sense, I guess, as the lower bound is -4 levels.

Yup, been doing this for awhile myself, though I thought that you had to lose the base, good to know about 2:50 timer. One other suggestion is that enemy strength is based on _average team level_. If you have a win condition like a gargoyle at level 18 and your average level is 18, then your gargoyle fights on even footing. If you have a gargoyle at level 18 and your average level is 15, then your gargoyle is going to wreck the boss as its basically +3 levels. You could warp the whole team to drop your average level, but usually I just have one slot dedicated to a mini I have no intention of using which usually can drop the average level by 1. (I'm also usually trying to level up said mini.)
