Very informative! I've been thinking about a different direction - not having any paying CLIENTS at all but only having CUSTOMERs. Is there some kind of video product I could make that I could sell directly to consumers or businesses as is (without customizing the product for each customer)? The only thing that came to mind were video-based training/education/informational products.

At these lower prices, sub 10k for example, it’s a video package used for marketing. That includes long form and several short form for ads, social. I customize how many videos they get and what each video is meant to do for the client. But I don’t set up the marketing side for them.

Interesting stuff thanks. But I have one issue. The time it takes to do 80 sales calls. If each call takes 15mins thats 20 hours of sales calls, plus how disruptive that is to your productivity. And you don't seem to factor that in. Do you have a sales person doing those calls and how much does that cost?

At that scale, yea you get someone to handle the calls. But 80 sales calls is a lot for one person unless that’s their full time responsibility. If you have a high conversion, 80 sales calls should lead to very substantial revenue. So hiring a sales person shouldn’t be any issue if you can generate that many leads

I don’t know of a complete free solution but I use wix for my website and landing pages and it’s pretty cheap. I’m sure there are free landing page builders you can find if you don’t want to pay for wix.

At your business proposal to the client. You should not tell all the benefits the client would get when they hire you. Just tell them half the benefits (what they can investigate and get from other videographers maybe cheaper). Keep them intiqued so you don't lose them when they give your full proposal to their videographer buddy/concurrent and ask them to do it as you would do but cheaper. Leave some leverage in your hands what you can give out when the contract is signed so the client can experience a bonus relief about their investment!
