The flashlight carrier is supposed to link up with molle, once you install it properly it won't come off.

Get yourself a streamlight wedge, keep your light on your person , plus its handy to just have as a daily tool, like a good pocket knife ✌️

Excellent ov er-all list. My only comment would be that soime of the items seem to be lesser quality. For a get home bag, most will work, but I hgihly encourage those looking into setting up a bag, you look into Suunmto for composes, Essee for knives, or a Morakniv Garberg knife, Knipex makes an excellent small wrench, a lifestraw can be adapted for longer than a couple of days, but it is a pain to use. You might look into simple aquatabs or a swayer minio or Sawyer Squeeze, with a water bag (or 2, one for clean water, and one for dirty water. A simple canvas bag or bandanna can be sued as a prewater filter. You may not be able to boil water and want to be more undercover. I always take 2-3 fire starting methods, and 2-3 water purification. I recently spent some extra money on a Grayal filter. Waterdrop also makes good filters. Gravity filtering is good because you can strap it to you and then you puriufy on the go. I like Anker Battery Banks, and a folding solar charger, again that can be deployed on your backpack so you charge while you walk. Extra cothes, underwear, socks, packable wind jacket, Poncho, woobie, and an extra pair of shoes. I have a very light pair of nike tennis shoes. You can wear them if your hiking boots go down or get drenched. Shoe Goo is also vital. You should upgrade your medical to more of an IFAK emergency medical model. The only IFAK thing I would change is that the Celoix style stop bleeding system is now disfavored. Basically, you pack with a lot of gauze and a Israeli style compression bandage. The stop bleed chemical doesn't seem to work as well as we hoped, and compression or a torniquet is still the key to stopping a bleed. I never met a folding shovel that didn't break, or break your back. I would rather carry a trowel, a titanium if you want to save weight. Multitool with a good saw blade, knife, bottle opener, and an awl (it is amazing how you always need an awl when you don't have one). I use the swiss army knife Ranger, and then also carry a Knipex extra small wrench/pliers. Although I have expensive Leatherman multitools, I found the Ranger and Knipex does the job for me and saves thje weight. Besides, if you really want to get weird, you can always do a threefor: Pack, EDC belt holster, and a front rig (Hill Peop[le call theirs a Kit Bag). Petzle and Princeton make excellent headlamps. It propbably would be better to have 2-3 light sources, especially in a SAHTF situation when you have to travel at night. O lights are good, but I would bet my life on a Streamlight- I carry a smaller Microstream, as well as the EDC Wedge Flashlight. My headlamp is a Petzl. I have several former military buddeies that swear by the OLight Arkfeld EDC Flashlight. It is recargable and throws off a lot more lumen - but do you need it? But I don't have persnal experience with the OLight. Several former Green beters use the Princteon Headlamp, The main reason is you can set tghe operation to red light when you fisrt turn it on. Others you have to start with the brigter white light and select the red or green setting after you turn it on. In addition to a silcock key, get a basic set of lock pick tools. Know the weak parts of handcuffs. I am not advocating burglary or escaping from p-roper authorities. You can't go wrong with any backpack form Eberlestock. They can get heavy, but they last. A new and upcoming brand is from Israel: Agilite. Agilite was founded by IDF soidiers and Veterans, who are now fighting in Gaza and possibly Lebanon. Remember our last experience was in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that was really a decade ago or longer at its peak. We learned a great deal there, and Agilite has incoprporated some of our in the field fixes to USA gear into their products. I have nearly everything, and its good stuff. My go to Get Home Pack, however, is a very lightweight pack fropm Hyperlite Mountain Gear. I was inujured several times in the military, and so my mobility is somewhat compromised. It is made of Dynamo, and I have not had an issue with tearing. Hyperlite is a good product and I rely on it. A day and a half walking? Fiogure 2 days best case IMHO. But don't plan for best case. Plan for the worst. Figure 3 days if you can only travel off hours, and 4 days if you have to travel at night. BTW, have you walked it yet? Spend a weekend doing so. If you can't bed down and if you can't camp aloing the way, have someone meet you and sleep in your car. I stealth camped once and got caught by the State Police. He asked me what was up, if I was homeless, etc. I just came clean. I toild him in case of an emergency I wanted to check if I could acytually get home with just a bag etc. I gave him my DL, VA Card and Military Retirement Card, and he just smiled and said its a great idea and he should do that. He told me to be quiet and went oin his way saying he would pass it along some crazy Veteran was practicing for Armageddon and toi leave him alone... BTW - get a train a dog. You can train a dog to be quiet. When I was in the mmilitary I actually was going over an Op with some sepcial forces guiys - the real life ones - and they asked why no dogs were assigned to the task. I explained one was injured, another';s handler was down, and the third was out already. They refused to goi untiul a doig was available. I told them that would be a mutiny and they noddded and said to courtmartial them. :) (we got another dog brought in to help.) I figured if SpecOps wouldn't go into combat without a dog, I needed to get a fricken dog and find a job where you can take it, or even two, with you. Then if you are going home its nice to have them with you. They are strong where humans are weak, and humans are strong where they are weak. I have a German Shepherd (working line with a straight back - not a show line with a sloped back), and a GSD/Alaskan Malamute Mix. I could beg, borrow, steal or buy a folding wagon, and the Malamute can opull up to a ton of stuff, including its own food and water. That was the AMs job in Alaska. You can train then to pull a wagon, or even a sled. Summer? Put wheels on a dog sled. I have an adult trike. A mamalmute can pull me and a GUCC set up GVet Home Bag In Style...The GSD is just a natural protatector. Other breeds are good as well. My dogd are very quiet. They only bark when the are huungry :) or when they perceive something is not right and possibly damngerous. They naturally protect their owners - But if you can get one profession ally trained by PDS - protection dogs sales. They train familioy dogs that are well socilized but have been taught ti identify bad guys and to fight. A normal dog is a street fighter, and they are pretty good at it. But a PDS or similar trained dog is like a calm black blet that can whip butt and can. Unless you are an expert dog handler, stay away from the Malinois. They will probabaly take ov er 100% of military workinmg dog rioles soon, but they are VERY active and will drive you up a wall. They need constant attention,m training etc. Great dogs, probably the very best for military and police, but not for civilians. There is a reason the call them FurMissels...They have no fear, and will track down a prey anywhere and even into gun fire. Stick with a protective athletic breed, such as a GSD, or a Doberman, Rottweiler (they started off by pulling carts...), a Giant Schnauzer, or a Rhodesion Ridgeback. NOW, if you have a homestead then go for a Guarding Breed, Such as. a Caucasion S, the Anatolian, Great Pyrenees, or the Kangal shepherd dog. As to the Kanaga, good luck getting a purebred. They are Turkey's National Dog and they refuse to export. But you may be able to find a cacausain or Anatolian shepherd with a Kangal. But remember those brreds back constantly, if only yo let the bears, mountain. lions, coyotes and I also have a 5-7 lb chest rig from Hill People and another from Eberlestock. if I have to drop my bag, at least I have a back up with only the essnetial items. They work well with a pack. Again, excellent list. I would improve someof the quality of the items selected so they don't fail you when the shizzle hits the fizzle.

There's also a petition I've signed in my state (Maine) to have congress reopen the whole repeater system and make GMRS a 4th level of HAM. Would still be test less but will open more repeaters as well as states
