Huge fan of Will's productions. He's done a great job at giving great underground bands a proper showcasing via fantastic recordings. Bands like Title Fight, Turnover, etc never really had great sounding records before coming to Will. I think this is proof that plugins, mixing, etc is great, but most of it comes down to capturing great sounds and performances. The dry drums already sound fantastic.

No fucking doubt. I never heard a badly-produced song from Will Yip. He really didn’t have to over-compress everything to get a good sound.

Please link the input with the output on your plugins!!! Most of us are using the plugins with a mouse (not 2 hands). Setting up the input and then after the level change setting up the output is not ideal… i only wanna hear the difference not big level changes.. The 1176, distressor, the tape machines and more would benefit soo much with this feature!

It's hard to judge the processing with such a large jump in volume! Please show us what it sounds like at "unity gain"?
@NoOffensePies Жыл бұрын
I mean the whole point is to squash the shit out of it so you can safely increase the volume. I will sound and feel louder, even without extra make up gain. I don't know why people say this in every fucking demo, but it is literally the point to crush drums.
@torocruz119211 ай бұрын
@@NoOffensePies😂 No is not, when I match the levels 99% of time I listen and think wow this sounds muddy, or cloudy or fuzzy or too distorted etc You don’t let the volume distract you from the sound

@@UniversalAudio I personally can't wait for all the UAD compressor plugins to be available on spark :) I just hope it won't take years because I am having so much fun just with the 3 compressors released to date in the Spark bundle ahahah. Honestly, I think it would be a great PR move if you guys disclosed to the Spark community at least a vague roadmap for future releases, maybe avoiding planned dates if you don't feel sure about development time, but just tell "we are working on a, b, c and after that there will be x, y, z" and so on. But congrats for delivering Spark on Windows for fall (just at the start of it, even) as stated since the beginning. I work in software and, in general, it's kinda rare to see a company match their publically released deadlines nowadays so it makes me think the development team is taking it very seriously to do the best they can!

The processed mix is louder, it always is in UAD demos
@tekis02 жыл бұрын
Exactly! How can anyone tell what's going on?
@shayeasy Жыл бұрын
@@tekis0 you can still hear differences in tone and dynamics even if it’s slightly louder. it’s not louder by much and not like they are just fooling people with sounds that are only louder and not otherwise different or better.
@michaelsnell418711 ай бұрын
But what’s the peak level difference? Surely a gain in the loudness department is part of the appeal of this process?
@Arthur_My_Dear11 ай бұрын
@@michaelsnell4187 What you say is true, *however* in these comparisons, louder is always perceived as better (within reason). Even if the sounds were identical and one was a notch higher 99% percent of brains would perceive it as fuller, more impactful etc. These are promotional videos, and I can’t believe they don’t give the ‘after’ output control a little nudge. After all they could carefully equalise the volumes of before and after if they wanted to. My point applies to every plugin that’s promoted in these videos
