God, that Mei one just fucking hurts hard. Hearing Malt break down entirely like that...it's impressive how attached this game can make you feel towards the characters in just the 1st chapter. I couldn't make myself choose for a while, I just settled on Malt cause it felt the most fitting for him. And it was at this moment, the game truly caught my attention. From start to finish, I loved every moment of it.

Yeah, it was a very easy choice to make between French or Japanese. Think the Japanese VA was lacking in some spirit that the French got me with. Though, honestly, I don't speak either language so what do I know.

@@slaaanieThey actually have the exact same Voice actors lol, aside from the a couple of voices (the narrator in particular I think is actually french?) they basically just got the entire japanese cast to speak broken french (Japanese man trying to do german accent in french with Britz is particularly amusing). I hear it's incredibly enduring when you actually french.

⁠@@slaaaniehad they had french voice actors to voice the characters i woulda switched the game to french. I kept japanese audio because its the same voice actors speaking broken french. Still interesting to know that the characters canonically are speaking french. I woulda also liked to listen to the narrator speak french while the characters spoke japanese. I already know thats too much to ask for a small company. Hiring voice actors who speak a different language and all that

When I had to choose, I choose Boron. I knew progress would reset, but after kids found his towel something broke inside me... I cried for the next hour in tears asking Boron and God for forgiveness... I felt horrible like a part of my soul just died with poor little Boron. Oh God my eyes are tearing up again, I never felt so sorry in my life and so much unworthy to exist.

Hell, if you search enough you can also find an english fan dub of the prologue of 1st chapter

@@rompevuevitos222 keep in mind that malt's decease was quick and his chest was the main objective. If we consider this, then boron is the one who suffer the most and mei the least. Dont want to sound edgy, but if mei is the ammunition then she will "expand" and "open" her mind. I like to think that the exo-taranis soul chamber uses anestesia bringed by hax IA to avoid suffering.

13:03 is where Malt starts breaking down if you make the heartbreaking decision to sacrifice little Mei. I would never sacrifice Mei. I wonder why other characters don't break down like him when sacrificing other characters. I am currently stuck on a certain Boss and it is frustrating every time. P.S. For those who watch the end credits of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes, you know where you get to the Gracie Films part and there is a scream before a scaelry organ music at nearly every Treehouse of Horror version? Malt's shock could be one for a custom Treehouse of Horror version if someone edits it. Seriously though, poor Malt. I wonder if the Soul Cannon will be in Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 in 2023.

That person was an adult and was used, but it might’ve been the canon on the red tank or the soul cannon. I cant remember.

So i made my best friend play the demo since i wanted to spread the cult. At the moment of choosing the sacrifice... she didn't understand what was going on and chose Malt. When she realize what she had done she wanted to turn off the game and shouted "I WOULD HAVE PICK THE FAT ONE!" Another dear friend of mine instead understood pretty easily the implications of Soul Cannon. He looked at all of the children in the eyes, stopped on Mei and said "you go." He says he doesn't regret this. I am not sure if I still can consider him my friend...

I think if there will ever be a canon of FUGA where someone actually use the soul cannon I think that would be Hanna, she's the one who wanna save everyone the most (excluded Malt, but he's pretty much the leader so is not likely to get killed) also she's the only one in the group that didn't run out of fear, it was instead searching for Mei and that for me is the proof of what I've just said. Also it would be a good incentive for Kyle to stop being a snobby little shit and become a better person. God I just need an anime so badly

YMNV, but I think Malt should be the "canon" death, if only because until this moment he seemed like the protagonist. Killing off the character who you thought to be most plot armored would be heart wrenching. Plus, it would be interesting to see how things will go without the most obvious lead in the group.

@@user-unos111 lore wise it would be impossible for Malt to be the 'canon' death since Gasco would later on renamed to Shepherd in his honor but I like this kind of narrative since it really reminded me of Bokurano (they killed of the most protagonist like character first, and they even a doucher Kyle [frick you Ushiro])

Sacrificed Malt first :P ...Okay but seriously, making that choice was surprisingly hard. I am very numb/apathetic when it comes to video games, i don't spend time mourning for fictional characters, nor hard choices. But this actuality made me stop to consider it further. I sacrificed Malt because... well he did say it was his job to protect everyone. Still though, The major getcha of the game is the Soul Cannon, but if you're really good at strategy games, or super reckless and exceedingly luck (Hello, yes its me, i am mister "23 hp and a dream) there's no need for it, which is really sad. Anyway, i really hope that one day they add a supreme ultra "Oh my god everything's on fire" hard mode so i actually have to sacrifice someone.
