CvS1 and 2 really are peak fighting games. Top tier presentation and music, tight gameplay with a groove and ratio system that let you play the way you want to play, some of the best rosters in fighting games. They ooze style without compromising depth.

Woolie you're forgetting that characters like Terry mai, ryuji appeard in fatal fury first, while ryo, yuriko, king, appeard in art of fighting. Kof came after. So Capcom vs Snk is very an appropriate title.

This game was a dream come true. Simple as that. The thought of Ryu and Kyo fighting was something me and friends would talk and make drawings. Then the maniacs actually did it. I wanted to cry the first time I played it.

It plays even more hype than it looks. Huge roster of characters, (technically double if you count ex moves) two seperate soundtracks, a color edit mode for every character, and a ton more features. =)

Yeah pretty much for this series. In the sequel they add a few others but they were from Fatal Fury and Rival Schools which are all one big connected universe with street fighter anyway so... Really just Morrigan lol. SNK side has the benefit of King of Fighters already being a huge IP crossover dream series by itself

I played the hell out of this game on the Dreamcast. To unlock all the charcters/colors you have to buy them in the shop. You get points by playing the game, but you don't get a lot by beating arcade mode. Then I found that if you left the game on the training mode for 1 1/2 hours you max out on points. So for weeks/months I left the system on and reset training every hour and one half. Even got in the habit of waking up every couple hours to reset it.

Absolutely. Hell, everything involving Ryu is the best for me in this game. My favorite voice (he has some fucking soul behind his attack shouts), my favorite design (almost as dynamic as SF3 Ryu but with proportions that are better), the impact of his hits, his friggin theme and I HAAAAATE Ryu’s SFII theme. This version is so damn smooth and to this day I’m sad it’s not the default in other games

Damn, I remember running a team of Terry/Guile in this game. I didn't know how OP Guile's flash kick was back then. Will stop anything in the air, no matter what. Ryu was also friggin' OP, with his scary ass Shin-ShoRyuKen. Granted the local arcades had the glitchy unfinished version(dunno how they got them. Most of the cast's special intros were lacking VOs. in them).

DBFZ has a lot of it and based on what I'm seeing Capcom vs Snk has a good amount aswell. If they could tap into that abit more people would be more receptive to the game.

The biggest bummer about this is when I see people sayin' things like "I hope they make CvS3. Capcom and SNK are doing really well right now, after all!" Because that is exactly why it isn't likely to happen. Just like how there's no reason for Tekken X Street Fighter seeing as both games are doing really well financially, there's little reason outside of real, genuine love for the concept for CvS3 to even be on the radar right now. I would love nothing more than to see a new one, with even more representation outside of Street Fighter and King of Fighters. I just hate to admit that these kind of last ditch passion projects only really come out of times of strife.

Woolie marking out over UI designs gives me life, but also makes me contemplate the biggest failings of his channel. I don't know why it is he doesn't, but I figure he'd be more successful if he would just go full on FGC rather than force himself (or others) into things he's not versed in, resulting into frankly painful moments for him and for the audience unless he has someone like LittleV guiding his every act. I simply say, I have a feeling Woolie would enjoy it more if he could make GIFG the whole channel, and frankly that'd be okay for me as an audience member. I'm rambling, but the point is that Woolie has clear strenghts and deficiencies like all human beings do, and forcing himself to do things he's deficient at rather than focusing on his strenghts may not be the best course of action. Also that CvS is *the shit.*
