I'm really enjoying your channel, thank you taking the time to vlog and sharing so many great ideas! One of my takeaways was the "We Missed You" folder - I teach K-5 Art and have well over 600 students. I don't experience too many students being absent but when they are I make sure to jot down the names in a section of my planbook that I title A.A.N (Absent Artist Notes) I'll jot down their names and what step of the project they'll have to work on when they return. I think adding the component of a folder for them to check would be awesome!!! I color coordinate each grade level so maybe I can have an area where the students can go and check what they missed. This is going to be fun to create. Thank you once again! P.S. Loved seeing your special guest!!! ADORABLE!!!!

I´m fine with teachers wanting to do all the extras to spiff up their classrooms on their own time. I enjoy doing that myself. What I am not okay with is the fact that everything that is mandatory for teachers to get done on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis cannot be completed, even by the best teacher, during contract hours only. I´m a 25 year teacher and I am very productive during the school day and I choose to come an hour early each day to prep for upcoming lessons. My children are grown, so I am able to get out early. Even with that extra time at school, I still have to get work done during the evenings and on weekends. Expectations for teachers have grown exponentially in my 25 years and it isn´t fair!
