Thanks for posting another entertaining video Lyndsay. You really crack me up! I really enjoy watching your videos, one never knows what's going to happen. I'm not an expert on snakes or beetles (or anything actually) but like everyone these days...I'm kind of an expert at looking things up. It's something retired people do! I think the beetle is possibly a Cypherotylus gaumeri from the Pleasing Fungus Beetle family, and you know, I think it is kind of pleasing too! I believe the 'dangerous' snake is a Neotropical Bird Eating Snake. What else did I learn in this video? Don't go chasing waterfalls...LOL!! Pura Vida!!

HAHAHA yes We looked it up afterwards and discovered it was a bird eating snake... so all that craziness over nothing!! hahahaha thanks for the info on the beetle. I wasn't successful at finding it's ID, so it's much appreciated!!! Glad I could crack you up and make you smile. thanks as always for watching. Yes, the beetle is in the family Erotylidae and probably the genus Cypherotylus although with over 30 described species it's hard to tell exactly which one. They feed on fungi usually growing on dead wood.
