I've seen 7 houses built in the last month near my house, which currently sit vacant because they are charging 1.5 million. So the houses are being built, but they are affordable. We need to go back to old floor plans from wartime homes to build faster, cheaper houses.

The term "building houses" is an economic term not an engineering one. It means increasing supply over demand so that prices can go down significantly. If you're seeing houses being built but prices are going up or simply stable .. that means they're NOT BUILDING HOUSES.

Have you ever thought that the prices aren't coming down because the home builders are constantly looking for ways to increase the price with multiple bathrooms, a garage, stone countertops and fancy staircases? Hence the fact I said wartime homes. 3 bedroom bungalows with laminate tops. No bells and whistles and simple floor plans.

I graduated from Durham college four years ago with an engineering technology diploma and I can't get an interview let alone a job as a machine operator, assembler, production technician, or any job where I can use my knowledge or skills. I think it's the weak labour laws in Ontario that puts investors ahead of the workers and reinvesting in the organizations that is the problem. But, does anyone have knowledge about this?

If you can work. Okay, O.W. collectors, I've met many of them. they might be able bodied, but they can't work. No one ever taught them how. they were taught how to remember a fact for 120 days, so they could use it on the standardized test, then they forgot it and went home to make themselves microwave dinner while their parents worked to afford the roof over the broken home they could barely be at, because they worked so much.
