MiniHamzie 255 oh wow 😳. I'm sure you will do well it won't be the end of the world if you don't get a huge amount of GCSEs at high grades well it depends on what career you want and what college you want to go to and if you want to go college because you might need to meet the entry level. But with a lot of jobs unless your going to be a doctor or something you don't need to go to college and then university there are normally other ways to work your way up depending on what you want to do in life some times you don't even need GCSES most of the time it's just to look good in you CV. As you know I didn't take my exams seriously which I don't regret but I didn't care at the time because I guess I didn't know what I wanted to do in life like many people at the age of 16 so I didn't set a goal to motive me. Luckily I got basic Cs in all my GCSES apart from in food technology I some how managed a B and in maths I got an E or something really bad but I knew I wouldn't pass maths because I was never good at it but not many people passed maths it was really tough that year. Since I left school I've done a year of health and social care in college it was a waste of time because I would never work in that field I dislike people most of the time 😂 but I stayed for a year got my certificate which was just a PASS but for once I was aiming for a goal even though it was the basics because I didn't want to want to aim for a merit or a distinction I thought what is the point of doing all the extra work for a grade In a career I will never go ahead with. But either way I still passed the course and once I went into the real world it didn't matter how high of a grade I got in my college course they just saw it as a completed grade no one has ever ask what level i got . Right now 2/3 years later I've decided to go back to college to study animal care i got into the highest level of animal care because I managed to get into the highest level of health and social care with my basic Cs from school! I will be done in the summer I hope that after college I can do volunteering at a vets for a year then apply for a job as an animal care assistant then possibly work my way up to vet nurse. I'm now 20 some times I wish I went straight into animal care when I left school at 16 but then i wouldn't have a career plan in my head like I do now because I knew I wanted to work with animals but I didn't know what I would like to do . It wasn't until a few weeks ago when I done my work experience in a vets that I knew I wanted to be an animal care assistant ! But for a start I would have needed to be 18 to do experience in a vet clinic if I had to do work Experience when I was 16/17 I wouldn't of been old enough. As well we had a lady from the PDSA which is like a charity vet kind of like the RSPCA she came into the college last year and that's when I found out about animal care assistant because I had vet nurse in my head but I had a gut feeling that some parts of the job wouldn't be for me. When I done my placement the other week I spoke with an animal care assistant and so explained everything in more detail and I want to go ahead with that . If I went to study animal care when I was 16 it wouldn't of given me the chance to set up my KZbin which is a source of income and I wouldn't of set up my own business. So I guess everything happens for a reason . Now that I'm motivated I'm pushing myself to get high grades in my course I want a Overall D or D* in a year I hope to become an animal care assistant and in 10 years from now I hope to open my own pet store because that's my dream job I love animals but I also love the business side of it hence why I run my own online business selling pet stuff. My niece is in year 10 and it's worried she will fail her GCSES and she was saying that her school won't be doing work placements and they had this educational talk thing and the lady said if you don't get any GCSES you will become a bin man which is not at all true. You can be successful without any grades you just need to push yourself to where you want to get in life so it's not the end of the world if you fail some people I've met over the past few years have said that they went to university and now work basic jobs and have over £10,000 worth of debts. The real world is expensive and I'm happy I don't want kids because kids are expensive I just want a dog and my dream is to live in a really nice flat with my dog and boyfriend my dream car is a fiat 500 in white and I would love my own pet shop that would be my idea of perfect. I wish you all the best with your exams I do hope you do well your good at maths and maths is seriously hard so I'm sure you can do well in your other subjects and hopefully that will help you do well in life just make sure you have a plan but if you don't know what you want to do in life it's okay I know people who are 25 and they are still deciding and it's never to late people in their 40s still have a career change. Just be sure to get your self into a job that you either enjoy or pays well because it will do you good mentally and physically trust me ! I once done a job when I was about 16/17 it was only for a few days it was putting magazines into plastic sleeves all a day ! It drove me insane and there were people in their 30s - 40s doing that job and I thought to myself what a life to be doing that as a job and getting paid the minimum wage I would rather be in a job I love and enjoy and get the basic pay. Aim for a job that you feel like you would be happy to wake up in the morning to go to every day!

I don't have any of this, I'm pretty poor (from Newham- most deprived area in London) but I rely on my natural ability and pretty much my skill through memory, I'm a member of Mensa, I was the youngest member from East London to join in 2011 at 9 years old. And I'm a black girl! It was truly a humble experience in year 10. I achieved a 9 in Mathematics at 14 while only 63% of the year 11s at my school got over a C. Furthermore I have a scholarship to study at a boarding school free of charge!

Keep all your books neat and organised, if you don’t understand something try and learn it at home, and revise properly if you have mocks/ tests- that will make revision in year 11 so much easier
