@DarthScosha. The advise is "get out and stay out" I personally belive that even using a fire blanket is a high risk thing. If you knock the pan over instead of covering it, the flaming oil will spill on the floor!!!!

You need to cover it with a wet/damp cloth if you dont have one to hand you could use your close like a tshirt and turn the burner off.

I've experienced a house fire. Yes you want to get out ! This advert is misleading, it isn't really the fire that kills you, its the huge thick black smoke that fills your lungs and the entire house, confuses you, you dont know where right or where left is, you dont know where the doors are, you cant breathe. This is why you must get out. Keep all doors closed, it will cause less smoke damage to you and your house We had to decorate the whole house only room not affected was one with door closed

Luckily I’ve never experienced a house fire. I’ve been terrified of one happening though! At one point I was terrified that some of the people from my school who hate me would come and arson my house! I have every bit of sympathy for you experiencing a fire. I hope you’re alright now.

Water is heavier than oil so it wants to sink to the bottom of the oil. The oil is burning at a temperature that instantley turns water into high pressure steam. As the water is sinking it explodes into steam throwing the oil out.

There are different emergency numbers in different countries. In the US, it's 911, UK is 999, and Australia is 000.

If I ever go to england and something like that or worse happened, I would dial 999 since the commercial is from england.

@coolcat7rz My parents came home from being out drinking alcohol, put chip pan on, dad fell asleep upstairs, mum fell asleep downstairs, they didnt even tell me to keep an eye on it, i was in my bedroom with headphones on. My parents stone cold sleeping. I could barely hear the smoke alarm, at first i thought they had burnt the toast or sumthing y'know. 10 Mins later the alarm still going off. So i went to investigate, Kitchen filled with smoke.

you went investigating the beeping smoke alarm after 10 minutes? you didnt thought: "hm.. my parents came home drunk, my mom went upstairs, my dad is still downstairs but i dont hear him, but i do hear the smoke detector going off.. wtf is going on? why is that thing still beeping after i thought of all this?"

It's actually a pity she doesn't say more in that ad.She has the perfect voiceover and sometimes tis hard to know whether men or women do the better voiceover.

Alright maybe you do... But we both know many different types of situations there are. All I was doing was putting across that in "most" I cant say common situations.... that smoke can and will turn you away from rescuer's. and yes I do agree with the hiding "part"

In a different country it's 999 but in America it's 911 in new zealand it's 111 I live in new zealand
