Zuko and Azula's agni kai is the most beautiful and tragic scene in the whole series!!! But can we all take a moment to point out the amazing consistency that this show has. So many times we get told in the series the importance of breathing while firebending. Well, in this episode Azula's breathing is fast and heavy, while Zuko's is slow and calm. Azula has became crazy and has lost control of her firebending, while Zuko has become more confident and in balance. Love your videos, man!!! Can´t wait for the end of the series!!!

Adding to that, Azula is skipping all over the place, wasting a lot of energy in the process. It's erratic and uncontrolled. Zuko doesn't waste a move and stand his ground. Every move he makes is methodical and hits its mark. He's fighting a firebend prodigy whose default fire is blue due to how hot it naturally is, and he's schooling her in every sense of the world, down to the basics!

Azula's downfall always has me so shook. She started off SO STRONG, she was an enemy no wanted to face, and reached her height in Ba Sing Se, but then it was just downwards from there. Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her and shattered her world view, that she was the best, that everyone would always listen to her. Then right before her battle with Zuko, right before she's to be fire lord the only thing she wants is her mom :((

Imo it’s kind of selfish of Aang to not kill Ozai. I understand that it is part of his culture to forgive but at the same time, it’s his duty as the Avatar to protect all the nations. Luckily, he was able to stop Ozai but that was only because he was fortunate enough to reactivate his avatar state. If Ozai had killed him, who knows how much more pain and suffering he would’ve inflicted onto world and all because Aang didn’t have the guts to kill him when he had the chance.

I think the ending of the show is what ultimately cemented it as a kids show in my mind. The fact a giant lion turtle out of nowhere shows up right before he has to fight.. That he gets his Avatar state back right at the end. It just seems like plot did the plot so that the plot could plot. 3 seasons of amazing television, and that's the ending? My thinking was that this was Katara's first time witnessing an Agni Kai. She is smart enough to know it was a duel between two and first down either dies or loses. Azula being knocked down she likely figured the fight was over. Then Zuko had to flex and Katara didn't have enough to time to get out of the way. At least that's how I saw it. Either way a fantastic fight and excited for part 4.

“This is the guy your trying to save.” He is in no way trying to save Ozai. Not murdering someone and saving someone are very different despite their similar non-death outcomes. Aang is trying to not become a killer like Ozai. Sometimes their is no ideal solution and you just have to settle for the one that is likely to give the best outcome for the options, but do not forget he is a twelve year old whose culture says all active killing is wrong, no exceptions, and he is still dealing with it. But many a good story needs tension resolution and that requires tension. One episode to go!

In this case it really isnt at this point in the series fans dont know aang has mcguffin deus ex game master notes to remove bending to make ozai actually a managable threat. There was no other option before that. So yes not killing him is saving ozai. If aang was not the one fighting him ozai would be killed or kill. If aang brought friends they would opt to kill him. Him fighting ozai alone is aang trying to save ozai from being killed or killing everyone effectively

Fun fact: When Azula tried to hit Katara you can see that Zuko actually catches the lightening in his left hand , and he released it when he was on the floor you can see by the lightening strike . He was only struck down because of he didn’t make it flow through his stomach but through his heart .

The thing is Katara _was_ standing back. You can't see her at all during the fight until Zuko mentions lightning, at which point you can spot her coming into frame in the background. She wasn't just standing there waiting for a stray blast of comet-boosted fire to come her way. The last time she saw Azula use lightning, it literally _killed_ Aang and Katara had to bring him back to life with magic spirit water. I'm pretty sure she only came forward at all to make sure Zuko would be okay in case something went wrong, considering the lack of magic spirit water this time around.

That Agni Kai, while epic, always makes me cry. The tragic music really fits well with the Tragedy of Azula and their relationship, how a child was turned into a monster and how a sibling bond was broken before it could even be built. And the details of Azula out of breath and how controlled Zuko's breathing was even shows us how he became the better fire bender at the end, since he is the one remembering where their power comes from;their breath. And it's so fucking beautiful to watch, honestly one of the best shows I swear to God 😍😭

But the fight itself...eh Let's be honest here, Azula and Zuko were basically on the same spot for the entire fight just chucking flames at each other whereas Ozai and Aang were flying miles upon miles shooting lighting and each other, redirecting it back. Screaming, Energy bending, and multiple amazing, crazy, bending moves alot of us have never seen before. Even the fight at the catacombs was better than the Agni Kai. The Agni Kai by far has the best motions tho. The fire, music, and backstory is amazing.

ngl many people don’t see it but azula actually has one of the most tragic stories. she never got the love and affection from her mother the way zuko did. she also never got an uncle iroh to teach and guide her. that leaves her with ozai. manipulative and only saw is own daughter as weapon. the only way she could feel affection or make anyone proud of her was to act the way ozai wanted her to act, violent and merciless. i understand why she is the way she is and i think azula deserves a redemption arc

I think a super important thing to notice, Zuko uses bending techniques from all of the bending practices in his final fight against Azula. He learned from all of them which is why he's become so powerful while Azula fights only with that she knows. Zuko taking Iroh's advice (when learning lightning bending) with him EVERYWHERE!!

I'm not sure if you caught this, many people don't (including me the first few times I watched this), but when Zuko jumped in front if Azula's lightning he actually managed to redirect it, which is why he's still alive. You can see him catching it mid-flight, but since he isn't grounded he can't let it go again. As soon as he hits the ground you can see it leaving through his other hand. It took me a few rewatches to catch (mostly because I was like 9 the first time and didn't know shit about physics lmao), but it actually makes perfect sense :D

Actually a scene that many people miss: Zuko did redirect the lightning but when it goes through your heart you get hurted. Zuko‘s my absolute favourite character not that he’s only hot but his redemption arc and firebending skills are insane! If you look closer to the fight, his breathing is very controlled in contrast to Azula, she breathes very heavy. When he bends the sound of his fire sounds like a dragon roar and last but not least he uses ALL of the bending styles.He now has that perfection Azula used to have in firebending he's the GOAT .Best written( and drawn😏) character ever!
