I've been on a journey now for years. From 16, I had issues with being underweight, suffered severe depression, anexity and PTSD. I was on a path to self destruction. 8 months ago, at the age of 27, something clicked in my brain. I couldn't go on living the same way. So I got myself up, no one else around me, and I pushed through. I kept going. When I felt weak, id cry, when I felt like I couldn't keep going, id remember who I was, not who I use to be. So 8 months of workout, self drive, motivation, I started feeling it. My brain was losing momentum. And here I am. And I'm ready to keep going. I can do this. I'm now 10 stone and I'm in the best shape I've ever been. You don't need no one but you. You are strong enough. We can do this.

11 months retained and its still a challenge, blessed to have videos like this. Im going to the gym right now ( 5 days later) I've been in the gym at least 2 hours a day, 1 rest day and retaining got my body in overdrive, cold showers right after working out and just a little soreness but not enough to stop the motivation. WE ARE ALL GONNA MAKE IT BROTHERS. (4/21/22) still no intoxication, strictly eggs and chicken and protein and gym 6 days a week. Shoot for your goals not holes🙏 5/20/22 it’s hard my brothers, I fell off a lil bit and been slacking but I realized this isn’t fun, being disciplined and strict for goals is not fun in the moment. The good feeling comes at the end of the day when you can look back and be proud of yourself for not giving in, not giving up. Short term pleasure is fun but not rewarding, long term pleasure isn’t fun but is that greatest reward of all.

Seeing this video now, funny enough is the first video to have an impact on me, because through this video I saw that Arnold clip for the first time, and it was simple, his words were: “I can’t wait to be back in that gym, because I know that with each extra set I do, i’m one step closer to that goal I want to achieve”. And that ticked something in my brain, for the first time I saw my sets, not as something I just need to endure, but something that I can look forward to, as it brings me that little bit closer to achieving my dream body. I’ve been a lazy gym goer for over 5 years, with an average body which is deteriorating as I am ploughing through my mid twenties and my metabolism isn’t what it once was. I now no longer go to the gym wanting to have it over and done with, but looking around at what I can do more. This single handedly changed my entire mindset towards working for my goal in the gym, and indeed outside of the gym. Thank you Arnold :’)

"Most human beings are only living at about 40% of their potential" I was thinking about that quote and realized how incredibly generous he's being here. In reality the true number is probably somewhere between .4 and 4%. Just look at how most people spend their time, they spend hours a day on social media, Reddit, playing video games, watching bullshit on Netflix, drinking and smoking weed, watching sports, hanging out and bullshiting with friends, at the end of the week it's a miracle if they get anything done! Maybe they'll exercise every now and then, read a book or two a year, that's the average person right there. They work a day job they're not particularly fond of and they do a decent job at it, and aside from that 90% of their time is wasted on stupid bullshit did they would agree is stupid bull shit if you sat them down and talked to them about it. Warren Buffett had a great line where he said most of us go through life using up a very very small portion of our potential.

I could be wrong but I believe he meant that when we get to that 40 % potential we give up, after listening to David Goggins he opened up a part of my mental I didn't know I had, for example I was running for a while and thought I couldn't do it anymore but when I decided to forget about the pain and push through I almost doubled the time I ran. Same with a lot of other exercises, for example planks, I thought I couldn't do more than 1 min, and decided to hold and hold until you are shaking all over, I held for a 3 min, and then went for a 5 min a few weeks after, with proper position. That's how people need to train to get the maximum potential they can, pain occurs way before your body can't hold anymore so forget the pain and hold and even when it hurts hold until your body can't anymore.

Pain is the great motivator. Our minds work 24 x 7 to destroy our efforts. You'll never get rid of the negative thinking until you stop listening to it. Workout when you want to and workout when you don't. No excuses or shortcuts to achieving success. Embrace the pain!

Lost my mother unexpectedly a week ago.. the sadness some and goes like the tides, only with less predictability. But the gym is my therapy. Sometimes I find myself crying between sets… but despite the sadness… I still got another set to do - keep grinding fam… stay strong, you’re not alone…

Thank you for this video. I am 14 years old and am skinny and frail. I saw this video 2 weeks ago and every day since, I have been working out. I gained a lot of muscle since then and I feel a lot more comfortable in my body. When I work out, I listen to this video because it motivates me more than anything else. Thank you.

"The one thing you wanted to happen oftentimes is the best thing that never happened." I guess wanting to be in a relationship and having someone who loves me is the best thing that never happened to me. I'm getting stronger day by day and ill carve the body I desire because I'm beginning to love myself and I'm gonna do me and ill never settle for the first girl to hit me up because I deserve better than settling for shit. I'm sick of it

I’m 16, I’m 6’3 and 140lbs. I’ve always been the skinny kid in the group. And I’ve always wanted to be strong one but I’ve never put in the amount of work I need to. For the last 18 days I’ve worked out once a day and I’ve gained about 3lbs of muscle which isn’t much but it’s a start. I’ve tried to eat healthier but I haven’t had the discipline to. That changes today. My goal is by the end of February is to be 190 on a good diet, doing at least 2 full workouts a day and cardio. Today I’m gonna make the change to better my life! My new life starts NOW
