A question on why you press the seams open vs to one side or the other.

I smooth the seams in different directions so that later these parts would be easier to sew together, so that there is not a lot of thickness.

There are more people than you think cut this way, myself included, they don't tend to advertise the fact for fear of getting chewed out by the Quilt Police. And no, I have never had any accidents.

Everyone is different. I have to use the roller knife incorrectly. I have never had any injuries because everything is under control. If my videos offend you, you don't have to watch them.
