@@stillworksandbrewing Love the 3 " , I pack it full of copper mesh, A low and slow run takes up to 12 hrs, Depending on how low of a proof I collect, 5 - 7 is about the norm, Fast and hot stripping runs 4- 5 hrs. All times include heat up.. As always, Keep up the great work...

Run the same set up, just haven't converted to electric yet, but it will happen. Love the flexibility. Works well for me. Really enjoyed your comparison of your two products. I agree ......put it on some oak.

Hey Randy I’m new to the hobby,thanks to you I’m hooked. I recently ordered my first still,all copper with thumper and warm. Am I going to have a problem running a rum with this setup?

have fun with it

Pretty fun experiment. From your explanation the two whiskeys seem similar with the corn cob being more muted and less creamy. More like a sugar head but still unmistakably corn liquor. Do you think there are any other significant differences? Does the corn cob liquor bring anything new or different to the table vs your fresh corn liquor?

Hey Randy, I played poker with my buddies this past Fri. The host had some Knob Creek Smoked Maple, and it was PHENOMENAL!!! I was thinking that a combination of charred white oak, toasted sugar maple, & smoked hickory in the aging would get a corn-based whiskey close to that flavor??? Might be a good project for your Sweet Corn & Corn Cob finished product?

you gave me some ideas thanks i always need them got a good idea hope you will like it will be in near future

It’s very possible that the age on the fresh corn explains the difference. It would be nice to test again after the corn cob has had a chance to age.

Could be they both taste good I will have to let you know I do like corn liquor

What was your starting proof before Tempering, had to be in the 170s. U added 3/4 gallon +- water to bring down to 100pr. For 6 gal Mash = 1.5 gal , the proof dropping maybe down to 80pr, that some High proof? Did u add Sugar to yhe Fresh Corn?
@stillworksandbrewing7 ай бұрын
no added 3 pints bottled water

I have a recipe for you to try! For your corn use popcorn instead of the corn you usually use. And pop it first. Then process it into a flour. It's cooked so the starch is gelatinized so the yeast should be able to use it and you should be able to use less corn since it's getting digested pretty much 100%. I want to know what the flavor is like. I hear on Moonshiners always talking about making sure the corn flavor comes through. If it works like I think it will it should be very corny. Maybe even a roasted flavor.

that sounds interesting i put on idea list thats where i keep idels that i want to try thanks cheers
