I relate so strongly to you point about the shift in priorities after having kids. I was all about my career before getting pregnant, but I almost immediately shifted into “mom mode” and left my job to be a stay at home mom. I’m almost three years in and I love it so much (although I do think I’ll go back to work eventually, there’s a few (VERY few) things I miss about my old job)

if you run cold water over the pasta it helps remove excess salt, then then rehear by adding it too the sauce, and bonus if your sensitive to glucose spikes it changes the structure of the glucose and will reduce the spike.

My dream is a home more in the country. Something medieval or Victorian. Of course, land I can have gardens. A guest house near a pool, maybe. Room for kids to play. Hopefully, I have grandchildren in the future. I also try to help bring happiness to others. You never know how someone else may need a little joy. I personally love how you decorate and the happiness you give off is amazing.

You are just the cutest. I, too, thought that you would be on HGTV after that kitchen redo at the cottage. I'm so excited that you're going to finish the cottage! I miss it, but I miss the mom/ daughter, dou! Did I spell that right? I miss that so much. My mom and I were like that. We used to get into some crazy mess together! We would trade living room furniture. When we were bored with it, we would trade back! 😅 Or we remodeled a complete bedroom. We kept our family on their toes. I miss her. Our birthdays are this month, too. I was her Valentines/ Birthday present. Happy Valentine's Day! ❤+❤= 💙!!

I really enjoyed your relaxed Q&A, MaCenna. Lots of good questions and I love how much real thought you give to your responses. I think it shows how much you respect your viewers and how much you value them. I'm glad you made a point of saying to just do things and not to hesitate. You don't regret doing what you really want to do even if you fail, but you will absolutely regret the things you don't even try or put off. I had a terrible habit of being overly cautious and telling myself to be "responsible". There are things that would have sent my life in completely different directions that I wanted to do and thought I couldn't or that they were for someone else. I put limitations on myself out of feeling unsure. I regret not doing them or at least trying them. There were countless times I told myself, "Someday I'll have the time (or money or whatever) to do that" but someday never came. And I had some serious regrets when I suddenly realized the time for those things never came because I didn't MAKE time for them. You are so right - do what you dream of and don't wait. ❤️

I was so grateful for Michaels paternity leave from paramedicine and our nanny, she left at 5 pm and I was in charge in for homework, snacks, and dinner, and bathes, and bedtime stories! then Mike would return after 12 hours and we loved that! he worked 3 1/2 days a week and that allowed us lots of time with our beloved children!

I loved loved loved this video!! My ideal home as a retired empty nester would be small single story ( no more than 3 bdr - craft/sewing and guest room/office) older home smack dab beachfront in southern California. Balboa peninsula (or Newport beach in a pinch) would be my 1st choice of area. I used to live at Balboa peninsula and my dream home is there. Then to do any upgrades/repairs it needs plus furniture & decor.

I live in the South and have been on “the world’s largest yard sale” route several times. It stretches from Ohio to Alabama on Highway 127. It is always in August and so very hot but the most fun in the world. You are literally stopping every few yards. There are hundreds of yard sales on the side of the road. You always find great bargains but over the years the prices have definitely gone up. If you decide to do the yard sale trip, you must plan ahead as far as reserving a place to stay. We would love to run into you, Romeo and Cade along the way and say “hi”!!

Hiya. Bread tip for you. I make bread every week on cast iron pans. The last dough proving should be inside the pan no matter what the recipe says. It's important for the bread to rise inside the form that it will be baked in. This will make it better and be less dense. Good luck

It's a common thing on social media. It works for times when the creator wants to chat but people also like something to watch. I'm curious why you feel it's disrespectful? Is it because you feel she should be giving her undivided attention to the viewers and speaking directly? Or is it the etiquette that says it's rude to apply makeup in public? I agree with the last sentiment, but feel it only applies to people I'm around in person. I'm genuinely curious.🌸

I remember when you didn't even apply lipstick or powder your nose after dinner or in public (and I still don't even though that changed by the time I was 15) so I understand. But she's at home and she's invited us in as friends. I wouldn't be upset seeing a friend apply makeup in her own home. Maybe you feel that same way so you can see it differently.
