I remember in 1990 I was 13 years old. MC Eiht came to Northwest Plaza in St.Louis Mo. Maybe he was in town for a show, my friend Brian and I saw him at the mall that day. He was so gangsta on TV but the most humble and kind person in real life. He said hello to us and didn't make us feel like we annoyed him. I never forgot that day. He was the first famous person I ever met. Yeah 8 is a real one. I'm now 46 and remember that like it was yesterday. I will always be an MC Eiht fan.

His modesty and maturity makes him one of the coolest guys in hip-hop ever. Just like that old school ass DJ Squeaky goes: “Don't change when money comes around, cause what goes up must come down”. MC Eiht was aware of that, and not too many have the maturity he got.

A rare example of advisable common sense that a lot of people never build from within themselves for when the money flows. Money is the root of all evil, and it'll pump up a person's ego to be even more selfish and fuckheaded than ever if they're not careful to handle shit wit it. Man, I wish I had MC Eiht as my father. I can live and learn a helluva lot from a guy like him. There aren't as many bruthas in the game that's about as real as him, and that's what's shameful.

Eiht, you don’t have to live basic to appease poor ppl around you. If you want a Rolex and can afford it, get it. If you can afford it but ain’t into fancy shyt, don’t get it. But whatever you do, don’t make decisions based on what other ppl might say or think either way because ppl gonna hate you for whatever you do. If you getting millions and coming around poor ppl while wearing the same $30 hoodie they wearing, they gonna resent you. If you a millionaire and wearing a $10k suit around them, they gonna resent you for that too. You thinking they will accept and respect you because you shop at the swap meet like them, that’s not true. The key difference is “they don’t have a choice, but you do”
