I use meguiars x2.0 fine scratch remover. It works really well

Just an FYI, just used Stew Macs scratch remover and it did make the scratch better however, it left a ton of swirl marks. Wish I would have left it alone.

Don't got no fancy pants tools boss... Can this be done well enough by hand if I just have the right buffing pad, micro fiber cloth, and that scratch doctor goo?

It’s the pesky swirls/very fine scratches that I’m pissed with on my brand new 3000 dollar les Paul standard. It actually came from the factory with some and got worse within a week! I used some swirl remover and a clean cloth and it didn’t do a damn thing. Those nitro lacquers are just so damn soft. A light pick rub on the top leaves a mark! It’s a live guitar and I should just suck it up. But it’s annoying when you spend that kind of money!

I got a new Les Paul Studio (Smokey burst) this week and after half a day of playing it, I gave it a good wipe down with a microfiber cloth. Long story short, it's now totally covered in swirl marks back and front. I tried removing them with polish (as suggested online) and it's even worse now. This is my first nitro finished guitar and probably my last. I have other guitars I've had for years and none of them come remotely close in terms of scratch marks. Might try the Guitar Scratch Remover Player's kit as a last resort. Other than that, I'm thinking about selling it.

Jason Fenech “meguiar's ultimate car polish” is the only product that ridded most of them by hand. I tried a plethora of products. That’s only one that worked well. It won’t make it flawless, but it will get it damn close without a professional or machine operated tools!

The pads for the belt buffer are probably more expensive than the rig itself. Good stuff!

I wonder if my orbital sander would work with the foam pads for this? It has speed control.

Hi, I was wondering what kind of chuck adapter you use for the buffing pad? I wasn't sure if you were using a wheel that was made for a dedicated buffer with some sort of adapter for the drill press to hold? Thank you for the great video.

What causes all those spiderweb swirl scratches to be on a new guitar? I just got a transparent black Epiphone Hummingbird from sweetwater music and in the sun it’s riddled with them. I thought at first it was used or scuffed by a bad polish or something at the store. I saw someone said use meguiars ultimate car polish?
@HighlineGuitars2 жыл бұрын
They used an inferior polishing technique. Usually a rotary car polisher with a wool-type pad. Use a swirl remover like Meguiars with a foam pad.
@thecryptkicker52 жыл бұрын
@@HighlineGuitars awesome, thanks! Can this can be done by hand?
@HighlineGuitars2 жыл бұрын
@@thecryptkicker5 Yes, however, a car polisher works best. You can also use an electric drill with a foam pad as well. Here's a video that shows what I am referring to: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGGVZ56dhKeigck

I lifted old stickers from an old guitar body. The stickers are totally off but it left sun blemishes. Does anyone know if there's a way to remove the sun blemishes?

I bougjt this right after I saw the video, the nu finish that is,polished my guitar very nicely but did nothing at all for all the scratch swirls on my guitar , I also feel like it leaves a light coat of whatever it’s made of on the guitar even when wiped for a while, I’m assuming it stays on, smells like stainless steel cleaner, idk how healthy it is to hand on your hands after sweating on the neck and all
@heythere69835 жыл бұрын
just read on it, NU finish has silicone in it, which is horrible for nitro finished guitars like the Gibson Sg I used, and apparently is a pain to get rid of and is apparently an obvious no no, kinda pissed.

Hello. I accidentaly put some scratches on my 1997 japanese fender stratocaster body's finish with a sponge I was using to rub the guitar's neck. How can I remove these very slight, superficial scratches? I tried some over-the-counter guitar polish but I'm afraid I used it too much, creating a kind of bubble (I suspect it was a lift on the top layer of the finish). Either that or it was too much rubbing with water the previous day. Anyway...I managed to push that bubble down and now it looks more subtle. I can only see it under the light at a certain angle. But it still kind of bothers me. How can I get rid of it definetely? Thanks in advance.

Why wouldn't it be "safe?" A lot of guitars are painted with auto paint.
