Hey I'm 21, been dealing with this since I was 15. I didn't know what it was because mine wasn't as bad (I have a mild case) and it's usually on my buttocks near the crack area. The dark scars they leave are really ugly, but no guy has ever said anythingg about the scars during intimacy so please don't be afraid to start dating. If a guy says anything just say "hey look I have an auto inflammatory disease that cause lumps under my skin" and leave it at that. If they have questions, you can answer them. But I promise you this disease is not the end and someone WILL love you regardless of those annoying painful lumps. Good luck babes ❤️

It’s hard but I’ve come to the realization that I’m not going to stop living for others so I’m the past few years I have been afraid to wear tank tops and shorts! Girl, live your life! I am an extremely private person, and I never comment...on anything, but I think it is important for people to share experiences. I am 33 and had my first "flare up" when I was about 20. I went to the doctor and was told that I had herpes. I became depressed (long story short) . After about 2 years of taking medications that did not work, I began to feel that maybe I had been misdiagnosed. 5 years and 3 doctors later I found out that I did not have herpes. I was diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I was relieved, confused, and angry all at the same time. The only instructions I was given were to keep the area clean and dry and to not smoke. This whole ordeal has been very frustrating, however, I'm glad that I was able to get a proper diagnosis. Over the last two years I have been able to identify a few of my "triggers". I have seen a major improvement by doing some of the things you mentioned in the video (changing diet, using castile soap). I am still working to establish an effective routine to combat the issue. Thank you Dr. Nina for your boldness, transparency, knowledge, and wisdom concerning this topic! I will definitely save this video as a reference for myself and to share with others!

RKELLYSCOCO This is why people are afraid to speak up. It’s not funny and it’s not a joke. How about grow the fuck up and not make someone feel judged or ashamed. HS is very depressing and painful to deal with, and because of people like you many people don’t speak up so unfortunately not many doctors know about it and may just look and make a diagnosis. Not all doctors follow the same rules sadly. Please think before you decide to make a joke about someone’s serious disorder, especially if they say they are normal private about talking about it.

Tea tree oil is AMAZING. I use it and introduced it to my fiance who has had issues with a persistent rash on his back for years with no answers from Drs. He is SOO thankful. I even used tea tree oil on keloids I had forming on my ear after I got my industrial piercing and I never got them before. 3x a day for two weeks and BOOM, 3 yrs later and never came back. I've also done tumeric and honey masks and use coconut oil frequently, even in my hair and for my daughters and my son. No chemicals and perfect addition of moisture to hair. Hair is SOO SOFT after. We all have HORRIBLE allergies and that reduces the chances of sneezing every 5 mins from scented hair products or harsh chemicals. Thank you for this video. Keep making them.

I was diagnosed with the hidradenitis Suppurativa a couple years ago. I am 41 years old. I have been having a boils since I was a teenager. So I spent the majority of my life being told by doctors that I was fat and dirty. If I just took better care of my hygiene these things would not happen. You are one of the first people that I found on KZbin when I started researching this condition after my diagnosis. I just want to tell you how much I appreciate, not only the tips in your videos but your straight forward attitude to this condition. Just have you say you are not a dirty person is amazing for me to hear. There are times when I would put on your videos that I have saved and just fast forward to the end to hear you say that. Thank you so much!!

I feel like that is what my dermatologist would say from being clean when I would shower almost every other day and she doesn’t supposedly think I have HS when I have brought it up to her which I don’t think she is thinking about how bad the inflammation was before she started treating it with Doxycycline for at least four years and laser especially the armpits and chest or it’s a nightmare if I go without the laser for a long time.

Okay so i cried through this whole video i have been dealing with this since 9th grade in high school and im 23 now , i have been too every hospital where i live and have went through over 50 drainings of my boils .. I have been told that if i loose weight and they will go away .. Well i lost alot of weight but that didnt prevent sweat . i have never used scented soap since this started in 9th grade ive use anti bacterial soap. No doctor has ever diagnosed me with anything this is the first video that brings me closure on my body . years of having this has taken a toll on my life . daily activities working out the scar tissue from getting then drained shedding a tear everytime i have too look at them or even look at my body in the areas that are suppose too be attractive the pain become unbearable. You are the first person too put a name too what i believe i have . under my arms . in the femine creases and many more place . dealing with this and trying too be romantic in a relationship or even being in a relationship at all . this is the first time i feel comfortable speaking about this comfortably i just want say THANK YOU.. So much

I wash with hibicleans. You can get it at any drugstore. The tumeric tabs help especially the ones with black ppepper. The tumeric binds to the black pepper and slows down its absorption in your stomach. You can also get it in tea form. I drink it 3-4 times a week. Echenashia has anti bacterial properties. You can get all this on Amazon.

I can totally relate to what you and eveyone in this post have been going through. I truely feel your pain. I've been dealing with this since grade school. Never new what it was, until this video popped up. I was told years ago from a dermatologist that it was folliculitis and that it could never be cured, and i believed him. So i came to the realization that I may have live with this forever, but now I'm truely confident that i won't have to. I say all of that to say this...ironically, i just had a conversation with my boyfriend about this the other day and he didn't even notice the areas and i dont believe that any of the other guys I've known have either or they didn't care. My boyfriend was so confused and had no clue as to what i was trying to explain to him. In the end, he basically said it didn't bother him, but, that he would do whatever he could do to help me make it better. I believe we are so much harder on ourselves than men, regarding our body image, and we shouldn't be. Even through all of our scars, If you love you, they will love you too. I know its hard, but never loose your self confidence and never let anyone one else take it away. ❤

Hello everyone I’m here to share my testimony about hs I suffered badly for over ten years but I read a article on google on how an intense pulse light laser would help treat this condition since the infection start in the hair follicles this laser kills hair follicles.. so I ordered one for 200 off amazon and I must say that’s the Best 200 I’ve ever spent! I've been dealing with this since puberty (now 38), my doctor never gave me a name for the condition, but did tell me to stop wearing underwear in bed and make sure to wear cottons that don't pinch anywhere (same goes for jeans and such). This has made a big difference for me, not only in how many boils and flare-ups I experience, but also in the size when I do have one (or two or three). Thanks for making this video, I wish every teenage girl who suffers in silence sees it and learns she has nothing to be ashamed of! Fem.

immo reel same story (had since puberty and now 38). Mine has improved with age and even more so when I stopped consuming dairy.

Cotton underwear is what we should only be using! It can help with so many things and help prevent uti’s, yeast infections, etc. My gyno always reminds me to only wear cotton

I'm 33 and have been dealing with this since puberty so almost 20 years. Thank you so much for blessing us with your wisdom. I currently have 2 active boils and I've started treating them with diluted betadine which is helping them to heal very quickly. I also like to put a paste of bentonite clay and turmeric on the ones that are weeping to absorb the fluid.

I was so embarrassed about my own, i’ve had HS since i was 12 and I’m now 19! If anybody you’re intimate with makes fun of you or shames you because of it then they’re not the right person to be intimate with. I told my partner about my HS on our third date and we’ve been dating nearly two years, they’ve never mentioned or even hinted at disgust towards my condition and only offer comfort and help when i need it. You deserve this and so much more love, it might take awhile to find it in yourself and in others but you’ll get there! I hope your flare ups are calming down and that your condition improves ♥️♥️

Bactine pain spray helps .....also ask your Dr for clinamycin phosphate. It comes in a liyion form or a dab bottle. Clears it up quick. Topically. Under arms and vaginal area.

Stopping smoking helped me TREMENDOUSLY 💪🏽😌 I also cut out red meat and scaled back on dairy. I’ve been dealing with this for 8yrs and just in the last year learned there is an actual name for this skin issue. Nicotine gave me hell with these and of course stopping was insanely hard but once I found the direct link vs the pain u can already guess. I might get a little swollen from stress but nothing nowhere near as bad as before!

Wow! I’m at Easy now, my sister sent me this video, I have been diagnosed in October of 2019, I was so embarrassed, I felt alone.. I was prescribed pills, it worked at first then I felt my body got immune to it and it started back up again! Thank you for this I definitely do not feel alone anymore, and am definitely going to try some of these remedies 💙

I have a 20 year old son with special needs who has HS. He's mostly nonverbal. He's been struggling with these flare ups for a few years now. You have a lot of great suggestions! His dermatologist put him on long term antibiotics. I'm also going to try these natural remedies. Thank you for shedding light onto this. I knew they were painful for him. But you really helped me have a better understanding of what he's going through. More so than any Dr we've been to. Thank you! ❤
