Get Seamless, Jogless Stripes with the Invisible Slip Stitch & Chainless Starting Stitches!

There's a saying that goes, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". Well you certainly taught this old dog a few new tricks. I've been crocheting and knitting over 60 years, and while I've seen others demonstrate the invisible join, slip stitch, and jogless color changes, nobody has explained how to do this with the clarity you have shown. Great speaking voice, no distractions, and clear view of every step you take, this is by far the best of the best explanations. And such an improvement over other methods. Thank you so much. I had a whole bunch of tutorials on jogless colour changes and seamless rounds lined up to go this morning and I thought I’d have to sit here experimenting until I found a technique that worked but you’ve explained it all in one excellent video. Seriously the best tutorial I’ve ever seen.

Best invisible seam and jog-less color change for crocheting in the round I have seen. Your first hdc or dc in each round looks like a variation of a hanging stitch. Definitely looks more like a real dc, or hdc than a chain, but it is thicker due to the extra stand of yarn. I start each round with a temporary chain 2 using a 6 inch scrap of yarn, then continue with the main color. When I get back to the temporary chain I pick it out and do the last stitch with a long tail yarn, so I can pull the tail through the last stitch and use a needle to finish the stitch as you would do when ending the last round of a cuff or hat. No slip stitch, no chain, no seam. I wish I could do videos as good as yours, to show how I do it. It does leave vertical stands of yarn on the inside and requires starting with a very long tail; long enough to make as many stitches as there are rows in what you are making.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much! I'm making hats for charity and I didn't want to keep cutting the yarn, like one method I saw, only have a bunch of tails eventually poking out. Especially after they've been washed. And threading in all that yarn creates raised areas that might be uncomfortable to people with no hair. The other methods I've seen don't really look that great, especially with a dark hat and light stripes. The seam where the color change is, sticks out like a sore thumb. I have spent countless hours...days really, trying different methods. I even tried to come up with a better way myself, to no avail. Lol! This made my year! Thank you! ❤🧶🙏

WOW!!! Just finished making a child’s “cat ears” hat and I don’t like the non-seam SEAM look on the back of it. Will complete sewing on the ears and make another, NON-SEAMed hat!!!
