When Affinity was bought by Canva I suggested to them that they really needed to get people like yourself to not only promote but show the differences with AI or what is better. I love Affinity as it is so smooth. The issue is it just does not do certain things Adobe does. Really want to go 100% Affinity.

I just downloaded the affinity trial and I decided to watch your video first. There’s gonna be a learning curve for me since I have used Photoshop for the last 25 years. You gave a very nice overview, but for newbies like me it was a tad too much too fast. Would love to see more videos from you!

Not to mention that Affinity Designer has a vector and a pixel persona. So none of that “now I want to paint in some texture in my vector design. So I need to open do several steps to open my illustrator file in photoshop” malarkey! Also, I love how you can edit e.g., a designer file in Affinity Photo, apply live filters in there and open those image layers again in Designer including live filters! And you can click on those filters in Designer and edit them! 🤯

I started using the Affinity package in 2017. It was the best decision of my design career. I stopped stressing about the awkward interface and slow performance of Adobe software as I moved away from it entirely.

Using it since affinity 1 along with Adobe and inkscape. Less features than adobe but far more stable.

Will, I don’t know where to start with illustration all together. As in, step 0. Would you be able to put us on the right path? Also, had no idea you were UK based! Where on the compass are you?

The best place to start is by replicating illustrations that inspire you! That way, you can learn how they got the effects across. From there, experiment with you own work and try and apply principles you've learned. It's a journey!
