Honestly, one of the main things that helped me get louder mixes/masters is tasteful use of saturation. Chopping off peaks while adding perceived loudness!

I can't be the only one distracted by how good the music is lol Every time you hit play I get sucked into the music. Your teaching style is clear and straight to the point. 10/10!!

I had not realized DrumForge has a multi-band clipper! I had been looking for something like that for a while but found most were pretty expensive. $39 is not bad AT ALL. I did have a question about clipping individual tracks with JST clip. You walk through this in your "Joey's Approach to Balancing" video, but how much clipping do you apply to each of your tracks? Do you always push it until it starts to negatively distort, trim a set number of dB, or is there another metric you use? I really enjoy the saturation JST clip gives to my drums but have struggled to know how far I should dig in on my guitar/bass DI's or on vocals. Hopefully this makes sense. I have really appreciated the content that you and Miami put out. It has saved a ton of time and frustration. Don't stop!

What I like about this channel is, during the entire demonstration, not one mention of his own branded plugins until the very end, and THEN says "Try the demo." It's like he's saying, "I let my knowledge do the talking, not my plugins."

If only this clip was around 5 years earlier, when I started making music, it would have helped so many sessions

Would you throw a limiter before Maximizer? Or can you just use Maximizer's clipper/limiter
@joeymusic Жыл бұрын
If you want to use maximizer for one of its other algorithms, you’d need to use the other before it. However, I think it’s worth saying that clipping for a maximizer is a bit of a weird and nuanced practice. It’s really only being used to catch stray peaks here - definitely not a standard practice though.

at 4:21, what is the plug-in on the left? A multiband compressor taming mid range? is that side chained to the vocal?
