It occurs to me that the letter says “complete the five holes.” The holes don’t specify a starting point (lots of mini-golf places have a rubber mat or something similar), so it could be assumed that you could just set the egg at the edge of each hole and tap it in.

Alternatively, you can put the club(stick) on the ground and push. Or just tape a string to an egg and drag it around. But if you don't do anything, then the challenge is not completed.

In "real" golf, you are not allowed to "push" the ball with the club. Rule 10.1 states: In making a stroke: The player must fairly strike at the ball with the head of the club such that there is only momentary contact between the club and the ball and must not push, scrape or scoop the ball. Roisin at least should have received a penalty stroke for each time she "swept" the ball. Also not allowed to strike the ball or egg while it is moving. So Rosin could possibly have been penalized 10-fold. And Tim's hits while the "ball" was still moving on the ramp, would fall in this category and results in a two-stroke penalty.

The calculated the points as: Shots * Eggs * Minutes = Score. Since the goal is to get the lowest points, then if they took no shots at all maybe they could win. Anything multiple by zero is zero, so zero shots multiplied will result in a winning score of 0.

As your score still hasn't been verified at this time, is still counting and is currently being calculated, we'll get back to you with your points when your infinite time has stopped counting." It's not zero points given, it's just no points given until a score can be set, which will probably be way after all persons in this show have perished. Perhaps when the sun dies and planet earth is destroyed in a couple of billion years, the participant will get 5 points in the task with the perfect score of zero. Then again, winning by not actually striking the eggs and just casually herding the eggs around is absolute shit as well.

If they didn't use any eggs and just said "I'm done" then technically their score would be 0 at the end because regardless of time anything times 0 is 0. Unless the judges argued that they didn't complete the course, which is true but they never said there was a time limit and at the time of judging it would be 0*0* a really high number.

Having watched the tasks available here in KZbin, I'm inclined to agree: several tasks have been completed (and approved by Alex and Greg) by observing what's NOT written in the instruction. If something's not spelled out as forbidden, contestants have won by exploiting that. So when the task doesn't specify that you have to abide by the standard rules of mini golf, I'd say you can pretty much do what you want. However, there's one unspoken rule I think everyone feel compelled to follow: don't be an arse and take the fun out of it. And maybe that's what stopped them, because it wouldn't be much of a challenge or even funny if one of them tried it. Well, maybe just a little funny...

There was no rule saying you had to hit the egg. Meaning that you could just pick it up and put it in the hole.... which would mean that your number of hits is either 0 or 1. If it's 0, then every hole would be 0 and it's an instant win.
