Yo D, thank you. I agree with Victor below... Would be great to see your process from scratch, Choosing the key; (is the kick the root, or the sub the root), and any troublesome areas you look to correct and blend from 30 to 120. The foundation is crucial and so many get it wrong from the start. It's taken me the longest time to semi-master my low end. But sometimes, it just works easy! Be interested to see your thought process. Much respect!

Thanks Dave! I personally think placing a kick in key is the most crucial part. I've gone through the complications of distinguishing the root vs. sub... I just care about the total output experience and the feeling it gives the track. So searching out of a handful of selected kicks and putting it in key just works for me.

@@Demuir thanks D, yes I spent waaay to long on that in the past and it crushed the creative energy. It's clicked now.. and yea agreed, house is a feeling, the olde saying but it's so true. 👊

You're talking about the "mud". I've done a few videos on this topic... Just search the channel.... I think this one is a good start. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a32ol6RvhZycasUsi=JyrhkbddS1iE_dyh

Thanks, but would've been helpful if you posted a full width video of your screen instead of this portrait sized video with your screen taking up a small top half. Even when I zoom in I can't see clearly what is going on in there exactly...

Thanks for the feedback! We wanted to try it in a short format, but your feedback is noted. I think this video will work for you.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5uWc6d-pN-LjMUsi=WJWwVBmW0s6Go3ke In a nutshell, the process is: 1. Tune your kick to the key of the main loop, 2. add distortion @ 12 bit (this is to mimic older hardware I loved using - like the MPC, SP-1200...distortion also adds more harmonics to the signal), 3. Pass the signal through my analog desk (in this case is Softube's console 1...this is not imperative, but it just sounds better to me) and gain stage to -6db, and 4. Add the Pultec EQ. and ensure you gain stage back to -6db I do this technique on all my tracks and remixes on my Weekly Production Stream on Patreon where we have over 150+ episodes and counting. You can check it out at Patreon.com/DemuirOfficial Cheers! D.
