There was a very popular brand of Sued Loafer called the, Hush Puppy, we had a family friend that owned a very successful shoe store selling Hush Puppy brand shoes and accessories too. We only brushed them but I see now why ours dried out in the desert heat of Phoenix and we never got them really clean; the spray "cleaners" and protectants were worse smelling than carburetor cleaner too! If we had cleaned and scraped them regularly they just might have survived the dry heat and looked much better as they aged. These are a beautiful checkered pattern, I like the color too. You obviously know your craft and products. I wish I had some Hush Puppy shoes now, they were always very comfortable.
