If you take that zebra f701 and drill it out where the ballpoint comes out with a 7/64 drill bit and get a Fischer space pen refill. You will have the best everyday carry pen. Better than what Fischer makes themselves. Also works with the f301 and f402 ballpoint pens. not the gel ones. The internals are different to accommodate the gel cartridge. I've made 5 f701 pens and 4 f301 pens. Even my mother wanted one who introduced me to Fisher space bullet pen 15 years ago when she showed me her bullet pen from the 80s she got at the navy exchange in Norfolk VA

I've purchased several tools on your recommendation, and every one of them has been worth every penny. I have IsoTunes earbuds and the MPower sharpening kit, and I've switched over to using the 3M Cubitron sandpaper you reviewed and recommended in other videos. All work great. Like you, I love supporting small and local businesses. Most really care about their customers like their livelihoods depend on it - because they do. Yes, I understand that for some of the things you recommend, you might get some compensation as an affiliate. I don't have any problem with that at all. You're running your own small business, and your reviews and recommendations are honest and objective. I've learned a ton from your videos - your safety videos are an invaluable service. Thanks for all you do for the woodworking community.

I have several Chips Fly tools and agree they are good quality. I especially like my fractional dial calipers from Chips Fly! They are definitely my go-to measuring tool. No batteries and with a scale I am familiar with. I also have the Iso Tunes ear buds. I have had them for 2-3 years and they perform as well as when they were new. I especially like them when in my shop or cutting the lawn. Can't beat Bluetooth jamming when you are working. (I am a Pandora freak.) They even answer my phone.... if I want to take the call. I don't regret the purchase. Both good products in my opinion. The others, I am not familiar with to leave a review or comment. Thanks.

The PEN!! We share a commonality James. You see, I too have what my nephew calls “wiggly hands” due to a genetic mutation called CMT. I can never find a pen or pencil that works for my personal “needs” and I cherish the ones that work. I use a pentel G style pen that is made in Japan. I use drafting style lead holders and a lumber retractable pencil for daily writing tasks. As a teacher of high school students I am constantly dealing with missing writing utensils. I explain how important “my pens and pencils” are right away. Then after the first week or two of school, I’ve gained my students respect and trust enough that they will bring in items they believe I can use! I’m definitely going to add that metal pen to the arsenal and hope it helps my Wiggly Penmanship! Cheers to you Stump! Keep doing the things you do so dang well! -Christopher “CY” Castor

This was a great video Stumpy. The Morgan square imho is a framing gamechanger.. I also like the morticing jig and the router table. I'll look into the zebra pen. That's a pretty nice pen, but my favorite will always be the black Skillcraft - US Government pens. Used them all the time in the Navy and I've never had one that wouldn't write, regardless of how many years they have been sitting in my pen cup on my desk. They were designed to write anywhere regardless of climate or altitude and the ink does not skip or smear. If you have a PO box and would like to take one for a spin I could send you one. I get them all the time these days whenever I have to stop by the VA.

@@wtyrrel I know that I was going to mention that when I sent him one of them, but you sort of stole my thunder. Although, it's not just the pens, everything Skilcraft produces is made by blind or otherwise disabled people. Thanks as always for these fantastic videos. On this one, however, I have to strongly disagree about the ISOTunes Bluetooth headphones. I'm now on my fourth pair, having tried both the earbuds and over the ear versions. The over the ear versions literally came apart at the seams after about two months of use, with the plastic coating around the ear pads coming loose and falling off, leaving them unusable. I managed to reattach it with Gorilla tape, which was doing ok until the right speaker just stopped working one morning. No drops, spills or mishandling - it just stopped working. They sent me another pair free of charge, which lasted almost as long before falling apart as well. I then tried my luck with the ear buds. The provided foam ear inserts do not attach securely, and I was constantly having to push and twist them back on, especially when moving a lot. This was annoying but doable, until the left speaker, you guessed it, simply stopped working. They again sent me another pair free of charge, and it was rinse, lather, repeat. The folks at ISOTunes were very kind, but I'm moving on to something else at this point. It's possible I received four duds in a row, but these just aren't as rugged as advertised. I'd have to say they're not rugged at all.
@StumpyNubs Жыл бұрын
It is very strange how one person can have a completely different experience as another, with the exact same product. I have lots of ISOtunes scattered through the shop. Thanks for a useful and interesting channel, which is why I am *SUBSCRIBED!* That's some good stuff. I took notes. About a year ago I purchased a mechanic graphic pencil. I haven't had a good one for decades for drawing schematics of the circuits I was designing starting in the late '70s before we could use computers for circuit design. The one I bought has the following identifying info: "GgraphGear 1000 Pentel PG1013 Japan 2C .3. It looks identical to the one you displayed. I think perhaps Pentel is the OEM for other companies to put their brand on it for resale. Anyway it is a lovely piece gear and I would buy it again. It was under $8 ... and I was smart enough to purchase extra lead.
