As many have said G, you bring and have brought joy to an awful lot of people( especially during lockdown), your enthusiasm, and the love you have for trains really shines though in every vlog you make, but most of all you are a beautiful person inside and out, the world NEEDS many more people with your outlook and personality, Your journey from those dark places to where you are now is so inspiring. Carry on the great work G. Looking forward to he next one. Stay safe.

That was brilliant. I am sorry to hear you have had rough times in the past. I have also had difficulties. There is always tomorrow though, the sun always rises and we can begin again. You bring a huge amount of joy to those of us who watch you. Your seemingly boundless enthusiasm is infectious. It is good to know that doing what you do brings as much joy to you as it does to others.

Thanks G, really enjoyed this particular blog. You are a really nice honest person so it was good that you shared some personal things with us ‘fans’. I can so relate trains becoming a lifeline for you during a difficult time. I hated School, couldn’t wait to leave, trains and signal boxes became my escape. I had two railrover tickets as a 13 year old and did over 7000 miles in two weeks. I went on to become a signalman….sad to say…I still love my trains….oh and walking old railways and canals plus a bit of wild swimming. Wonder what the day job is?. Take care. 🚂👣🚴♂️🇺🇦

Yes, come visit Canada! The train from Toronto to Niagara Falls will probably be the busiest train you've ever ridden. During the summer they run 12 car double decker trains and the morning departure from Toronto typically had around 1500 passengers on board.

Smashing vlog G. You present a good and truthful tour of your love for the railway. Bring on some more. PS I know Niagara falls very well but if you seek further for a vac break try trains from Paris to the Palace of Versailles, the flowing waters and statues are not by lakes or canals but gems to behold. Did you know that from Preston station you can quickly get to where the canal basin used to be, then follow the route until you get to the start of what remains of it? Once you get there you can visit the Millennium Link, which is the only new piece of canal construction in more than a century?

Yes! Come to Canada! Most of the trains you can ride are in Ontario and Quebec. Out west there isn’t much except expensive tourist trains, although we do have nice mountains to visit.

@owenpavey2 жыл бұрын
Woo-hoo,another great video G 💯 Preston is a classic mainline station,i lived in Ashton on Ribble for a while and was intrigued by the history,there used to be a line branching off it's south end where the viaduct is. Noting your love for long walks by the canal Chesterfield is the place you might want to visit, you can walk all the way from the station towards Staveley,a distance of 5 miles,but halfway through the journey at around 3 miles,the canal path runs parallel with both the former Great Central Railway "Chesterfield loop" (look out for an occupation bridge and an infilled footbridge) and the "Old Road" Midland Railway which is still active with Class 66 freight and the occasional DMU,Voyager & Meridan heading into Sheffield on a diversion.At the Hollingwood Canal stop off near Barrow Hill there is the remains of both Staveley Ironworks Railway Station (parts of one platform still intact) and the huge derelict Ironworks site,whilst a 5 minute walk to the north from here will bring you to Barrow Hill Roundhouse,which is chock full of steam & diesel locos,and an outbuilding also hosting Deltic preservation.There are plans to re-introduce stations on the "Old Road",one of them bieng on the former site of Barrow Hill Station which is planned to be renamed "Barrow Hill & Staveley".Would be nice if you came and did a blog of the station site,then return in 10 years time when it is open again! In addition to that is Markham Footbridge,which is just 400 metres north of Chesterfield Railway Station,and Tapton House,once the home of George Stephenson. This area is trainspotters paradise,both because of the open girder nature of the bridge (no high fencing to pear over) but also the sheer variety of passenger, freight,charter & steam which passes through.🥰

Ha - Preston's my favourite too! My family moved to the area when I was about ten and I used to take myself off to the station every Saturday, just spend the day looking around the station and watching trains. I still love the place now, I get a little disappointed when I have to change trains there but don't get long enough for a wander around. Btw Heart of Wales line is gorgeous and Arnside is absolutely the right choice - that viaduct 😍

Hi again G.🙂 I don't really comment much (if at all) on any of your videos as I can't think what to add. But I'm regularly sat in the background watching them, either on my pc or on my phone. Hehe. I do enjoy a lot of your videos. You show some quite nice locations, and even more so for e.g. when you visited Lake Windermere... or is it still "windy smere" as you so renamed it?😋 You gave me the giggles at that for a short while. Hehe. I went there myself in the past with a small group of people. It's a massive lake with very nice scenery too. I remember we had a short boat ride about half way round, which made for a good day out. It was some years ago now, and a nice memory too. I never went there by train (never knew it was an option til now) but rather by mini-bus. (from a hostel I was staying at not far from there) I'm now hoping I might be able to visit there by train one day.☺️ Back to this current video... I'm kinda glad you mentioned the train strikes, (just briefly) I've heard about it too and have been wondering if you knew this too. You do seem to know now, so that's good. I feel it does make train travel a bit of a worry though when you can't go out and enjoy yourself travelling on them as you have done for at least a year now. What a shame. I really hope it doesn't last too long so you can go back out and show off more of your excellent train filming adventures to those of us who love to watch them. (including me hehe😋😋☺️) Gosh, I'm so sorry I typed so much. I'm quite embarassed now. It's not normally this bad. I hope I haven't bothered you too much. :-/ I just have one more thing to add. This is just a question I have relating to what I've just been saying about the train strikes. I have a feeling you may not answer, or may not have time. (as I've noticed with some of the other comments on here) Just a very short reply would be fine, (not like my looooong yaaaaawn city one though😋) but If not, no worries at all.☺️ Okay, so just a quick question, and I feel that anyone out there (who including G, also uses the trains frequently) could answer for me if they can please? So I've just been wanting to know.. does anyone out there think they may have any idea at all as to how long they think the strikes may last until please? (this much I don't know) I googled this a couple of days ago, it mentioned half way through June. However it says July under G's video since she mentioned the strikes. So I'm a left feeling a bit confused now whether the strikes are still on or not. I'm assuming you can't go anywhere at all on the trains while this is happening either? Again, I'm very sorry this has taken me a silly length of time to type out. I hope I haven't bothered anyone too much. I'm done now. (just about) Hoping to catch up on watching more brilliant GLovesTrains videos when these strikes are over. Keep going G, your'e doing a really brilliant job with them, you're a fab KZbinr. ☺️😎
