Get Together Foundation's Music Enrichment Program intro 6/22

The Get Together Foundation’s Music Enrichment Program for Underprivileged Kids was launched in early 2022 as a way to bring musical experiences to underprivileged youth from 7 to 17 years of age. The program offers opportunities for kids to develop their artistry through song and musical expression in a fun, non-threatening learning environment. They can learn to play musical instruments such as guitar, piano, recorder, percussion, and also gain knowledge in music theory. Here are some of the classes we offer:
• instrument lessons (recorder, guitar, piano, voice)
• sing-alongs
• songwriting
• drumming class
• percussion class
• music games for fun & learning
• music theory
• storytelling to music
• choir
Programs are offered at NO CHARGE to students or the facilities where the programs take place. Teachers /counselors, instruments, and supplies are all provided by GTF. Music teachers and counselors are selected and hired based on their knowledge, skills, teaching experience, and ability to work well with kids. They are screened and trained.
Programs are either after school or ‘camps’ during holiday or summer breaks.
Through our “sponsor a kid for music camp” campaign, kids get to develop their musical interests and growth in their music studies and may be granted instruments to keep.
The Get Together Foundation www.gettogetherfoundation.com is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to action since 2004. Our work focuses on assisting children and families, which includes bridge housing shelters, mobile meal delivery, crisis relief, and our music enrichment program serving underprivileged kids.
