Fantastic solution! I was not thrilled about having to purchase an audio device with more outputs for the purpose of the click track. This is awesome! Thank you so much!

I've set Mainstage to record channel 1-2 and the metronome is through 3-4 so it won't be recorded, but I want to hear the metronome too, is there a way to hear 1-2 and 3-4 through my headphones? I don't really want to have to have the metronome out loud from a speaker as my mic would then pick it up.

Hi, if you'd like feel free to reach out to us about this - if you are using an interface, you should be able to plug in headphones to your interface and hear all of it. You can reach out to us directly here: sundaysounds.com/contact

How do you feed the click to the in ears once all steps have been done?
@EfigLoveTucson Жыл бұрын
Thank you for all these MainStage videos. Quick question pls. How do I assign an output to a midi controller rather than an instrument? I have two MIDIs (Yamaha PSR e373 and M-Audio 25 key). Currently, I can assign instruments to outputs. Instruments are created as original patches. Then I use these instruments as Aliases in other patches which I use for my songs. Unfortunately, if my original instrument is assign to one output (ie yamaha) I can’t reassign to M-Audio for that one song. Say I want horns at top keys and regular piano at bottom keys. Thank youuuuu :) :)

Great tutorial, thank you David! What type of 8 channel fader controller do you use on top of KORG NanoControl 2?

It's the Platform X midi controller by iCon - David uses it primarily within Logic.

Been wondering, can Mainstage output the audio through the keyboard or midi controller’s main audio/speaker outs ?
@SundaySounds3 жыл бұрын
Some keyboards require an audio interface to send audio out, some have an interface built in.

Trouble is, I HAVE the "gear" (Presonus 1824c) and want to be able to send a keyboard to FOH as well as an amp on stage, by sending it through channels 1 and 3 (channels 2 and 4 would send a synth drum to FOH and the stage amp as well). I have the keys panned one way and drums panned the other for mono sends..

When you go to audio devices what should I leave my format to? If you change it does it cause you to use more CPU

Thank you for this video! I am very new to Mainstage and just want to make sure I understand. I am not using an audio interface currently, and just running sound through the headphone jack. Can I still add the two extra outputs to run click from Mainstage in to the extra outputs and have the main sound come through the house? Thank you for all these videos, it is greatly helping me grow in leading worship and understanding Mainstage \../ All glory to God!
@SundaySounds5 жыл бұрын
This is commonly used for running something like say a metronome from your built-in output computer speakers, and running your sounds from mainstage through your interface so you are able to make use of both. We would recommend you use an interface to route your sounds to your sound board as they will generally give you more headroom with the sound as well, and you are able to push out my audio signal at a much louder level- without running into any noise floor issues.

How does running the MainStage audio through the Mac's inbuilt audio output sound? Interested since I've never dared gig in that setup.
@Javier23gol4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Also can I run two playback tracks at the same time? I have songs where I have backing tracks with the drums because its easier for the drummer since it has a lot of changes and it can be confusing having only a click. So I wanna send the one with drums to the drummer and the one without drums to the main outputs.

Yes, you could do that.

Is it at all possible to use the 4 outs individually? like have each out have its own sound? For example, use output 1 for the MainStage pianos and pads, output 2 for something else I use like Trumpets. Output three for multitracks, and output 4 for the click track and guide. Is that possible? I have a Scarlett 2i4 by the way

So I am having some difficulty. I’m using a Scarlett 2i2 as my audio interface, and I have created an aggregate device to use both my interface and my built-in output. I am hoping to send all my keys sounds to the interface (assigned outputs 1-2) and the tonic pad to the built-in output (assigned outputs 3-4). I have this setup correctly in mainstage and have the aggregate device set up correctly within the midi setup, as well. In fact, I’m receiving signal from my keys sounds from my interface via the aggregate device nice and clearly, but I’m not getting anything from my tonic pad through my headphone jack in outputs 3-4. Am I missing something? Volume is up for the pad in the template. And everything is connected to the sound system properly. I’d love some help!
