That’s what I don’t get. You get these QBs who weren’t half of what Russ is, e.g., Matt and Tim Hasslebeck, Hugh Millen, Dan Orlovsky, Chris Simms, and even Cam Newton, commenting on and critiquing Russ. It’s a joke! Matt Hasslebeck is at best the third-best QB the Seahawks ever had, and maybe 4th. Cam Newton had two great seasons his entire career and another season that was “good.” Hugh Millen talks like he has 9 SB rings and was a 5-time league MVP. He’s jealous because he’s from Seattle but never got to play for the Seahawks. Plus. He’s low-key prejudiced too. Tim Hasslebeck constantly attacks Russ because he thinks his brother is in competition with Russ for best Seahawks QB ever, when he’s not even close. Dan Orlovsky and Chris Simms were both jokes as NFL QBs. Eli Manning’s and Terry Bradshaw, despite winning quite a bit in their careers, were inferior QBs to what Russ was and still is. Meanwhile, elite QBs and receivers have nothing but high praise for Russ. The only all-time elite QB who has had criticism for Russ is his former mentor tor, Warren Moon, and that was more about Russ’s attitude than his play. Peyton Mannng recruited Russ to Denver, as did John Elway. Joe Montana loves Russ’s game, as does Jerry Rice. Tom Brady has nothing but the highest praise for him. Kurt Warner has been co-mentoring Russ with Warren Moon for years. So Orlovsky is just a joke. Idk why these networks bring in guys like Simms and Orlovsky. They’re failures as QBs and therefore unqualified to critique anyone, let alone the top QBs in the biz.
