The quarter that saw 1 or 2 and didn't stick around might have absolutely loved 3. The 25th serving of dog poo sandwiches might be really delicious, people shouldn't judge a book by its first 5 hours, it might have turned around.

I think we are all missing the goal, they are taking away Star Wars, Indiana jones, all the old marvel heroes, Star Trek , dr who, our culture. There is no replacement. No TV, no schools , our families. The main media is going after us so we are alone, everything we use for grounding is gone, destroyed they don’t care. Star Wars still has no lead actors that are Black and no gay characters. Doctor Who has had non straight regular characters since 2005 and, although it's new that the lead actor is Black, we had a Black companion way back in 2007.

The screwy thing is that Stephen Moffat _can_ actually write good stuff. Admittedly "Jekyll" was pretty dire, but I saw his drama series "Inside Man" and I thought it was brilliant, so much so that I had to check twice when I found out that he had written it. That had David Tennant in it as well.

One of my other favourite programmes only gets ratings around 2 million, but the difference is that it's a comedy show on a much lower budget and has a niche audience. Doctor Who is supposed to be prime time. When the seriss was cancelled in 1989, it was getting better ratings. Sure, it was a different world back then, it cost a lot less to make back then and wasn't as high profile outside the UK. Then it came back and became a massive international hit with ratings over 9 million. Can't go back from that. If they want the show to continue, they need to improve things.

I’ve watched the first three episodes and it’s very obvious from the style of the writing and the presentation that it’s designed for children probably on the Disney children’s Channel, it is no way a gritty sci-fi series for adults, it is a children’s show where the plot is next to non existent everything magically goes right and everybody lives happily ever after even if they died. I do find certain things very weird. One is that in episode three. The Doctor Who is traditionally an asexual individual who supposedly meets a variety of aliens who have a variety of ways of reproducing starts discussing the situation that happened in the past by describing the individuals as two lesbians it stood out as very strange as this is not the way we describe people

When they say the iplayer their not talking about the previous episode. You cant disclude online. Saturdays series premiers 12am UK, 6pm US. And shows on tv Saturday evening. This isnt true, these ratings are the overnight tv ratings in the uk, which don't really matter anymore as it goes up on streaming almost a day before it airs on tv now. For reference it was the 8th most streamed thing on disney plus recently, so this is an obviously bad faith take. I'm saying this as someone who hasn't really enjoyed the new direction (I loved boom to bits though) so I understand criticizing the new direction, but for the writing, not the false narrative that it's failing. The show has always been leftist, from its very beginnings. People claiming it hasn't have never understood the inclusive narrative it has always had.
