That 130 white umbrella is looking like my next go to modifier.
@LucioFlaubertRibeiroBorges2 жыл бұрын
I work with social photography (weddings and birthdays) and studio photography (family, portraits, ballerinas). In my studio and in the external photos at the moment I only use Softboxes (QR P90 among other Godox modifiers (square and rectangular) attached to the Sk400, Ad400, Ad200 pro, V860 and VL1 flashes. But I intend to use a 105cm white reflector umbrella both in the studio and outdoors.

Last 1 year i was using the Godox 120cm softbox umbrellas to light me ( subject) while shooting my youtube videos interior in my small 10/10 bedroom home studio. But now i hv switched to 80cm so that tye size suits my room and i use it with a godox sl60w light to light to light the subject(me) and do product shoots. Even recently made a video on it on my youtube channel 😊.

great introduction to umbrellas, I use speedlights at the moment, in a move to LF and film photography I am looking into what I need,flash and modifiers, I have Autism, and shoot architecture, boats, cars and trains. the only umbrellas I use are the ones you use in winter, to keep the rain off your hat :-)

I use the 88-inch wing umbrella for both indoor and outdoor portraits. A very versatile tool since it can be used as a bounce or shoot-through. And you can even use the backing as a flag in either the tall or wide configuration. And speaking of tall or wide, you can shoot through horizontally if you have a low ceiling indoors or if you need to light a large group or large area.

My go to umbrella is 165 with a white interior and I do often (actually most of the time) uśe it with a diffuser. It's an amazingly versatile light modifier - I used it for corporate head shots, half as well as full body portraits and for large products photography. Using it with or without the diffuser, adjustingi the depth of the light placing insinde the umbrella - there's so much you can with that modifier to affect the light quality, that with the addition of being so compact when closed and packed and so lightweight, that 165cm white interior umbrella + diffuser is a number one light modifier for me! :)

Thank you for providing this concise and useful info. The umbrella I use most is the white 85cm for environmental portraits. For this type of photo, I let the ambient light provide most of the illumination; the umbrella light adds just enough to help the subject stand out from the background. The small size of the 85cm umbrella is good because it doesn't run into furniture or knock things over!

130cm silver reflective umbrella is my choice. It's not too big and still enough for full body shots. Silver gives me the highest light output. I can achieve everything from highest contrast without diffusion to soft light with diffusion and playing with the distance.

I am using 105cm white umbrella with diffuser. But I prefer to use my first godox octabox 80cm and grid with godox ad-200. (My first godox flash. In fact I am the first user of godox flash in India before launching in India and nobody knew godox name.) Now I am proud owner of AD-600B, 2 units Ad-200, Ad300 pro and godox V1 N. I am using all these units for wedding and product photography. All these are working flawlessly and never failed. Only my X1N has developed a minor problem. It's power switch is not working. Since I brought it from china, the local service center in Mumbai refused to service the unit. It is very disappointing experience from godox service. So I have to purchase another transmitter unit. Anyway the godox products are excellent in quality and very reliable. I am sure you will introduce great products in future also. I am planning to purchase ML-60 bicolor which is recently launched.. Unfortunately at present it is not available in India. Best wishes to all Godox team.

I usually go with a 65”, white interior, reflective umbrella for shooting portraits. I find that this size is very versatile and can be modified by its positioning and distance quite easily. It is also great for doing environmental shots, as it can be placed a bit further away to allow for more even illumination of background and subject without loosing softness as would with something smaller; also will fit in most places unlike a 7ft one.
