Can you make a self sustaining ship yard what i mean have all the material building facility all on one station as i tried do this and now when in logical view im getting red explanation marks

I Got all that but for some reason it will not let let me build a large ship yard with L/Fab and L/Repair, i can witn small and EXL only, Why?

The operation budget is related to the amount of storage space available on the station, so more storage space means more budget will be demanded by the manager. This is why wharf and shipyards need large budget as they will need a lot of storage space for building ships. On a side note, it is best to get your own station builder as they provide the best building speed. As the building speed to determined by the number of building drone on the builder up to a max of 30 building drones. So a player owned builder is generated to have max building speed as you can keep it stock full of the 30 drone maximum. This is why some NPC builders have very long building time as they have less than 30 building drones and scanning for a NPC builder is very trouble some as they need to be in sector. Also a builder with more than 30 building drone will not get faster building speed as the max building drone utilization is caped at 30.

If you build a lot of advanced satellites you can sell them for huge amounts manually. I also found that if you stick your build base somewhere like Holy Vision and produce ships the AI uses you will be swamped with orders, a complete cash cow.

Well, as mentioned in other comments, going through the list of your guides and I'm interested exactly which kinds of wares you'd need for a fully self-sustained ship wharf/yard. Some wares are obvious like hull-, weapon-, missile-, shield-, turretparts and energy cells to run the whole place. I would also assume claytronics as those are used to build stations. But I'd bet there's a whole slew of other components that. I suppose I could just take a glance at what any NPC run ship wharf/yard is buying to get a list of that stuff, but that may not include things that some faction specific gear might require (if that is a thing) or in what proportions. I'd be happy if someone could give me a short rundown on that stuff! And as always, nice guide and thanks for the effort you put into sharing those tips!

You need pretty much all the wares for a fully self sustaining shipyard. Exceptions are illegal wares, faction specific consumer goods (like majaglit) and claytronics is also not needed. Everything else ends up in some high end component for ships or the station population.

For the first time ever in X4, I finally made my own ship production facilities, after 250ish hours of play. First just to get an Asgard, then I figured I may as well spend 300ish million credits on all the Teladi S/M BP's and start making some serious money. Almost bankrupted me. What DID bankrupt me though, was the fact that ship sales have been nerfed so hard, even with factory producing almost every resource, you STILL lose money - with ship cost at 150%. Kinda wish I knew that before going in. I'd spend the money on Argon BP's instead. I did have a laugh when Yaki started appearing in Grand Exchange though suddenly with tons of corvettes and fighters and killing everything around my station. Soon figured out they were buying crazy amounts of underpriced ships from my wharf. Definitely did not expect that.

I do enjoy sending at least 15 Perseus Vanguards to a K or I to keep their turrets occupied - any less and they tend to take damage. Works like the Cobra did in your intense battle video, your destroyers wont take return fire. However with S class fighters they don't get hit either :)

After these videos of yours, and some old ones from How The F*ck Studios´, I´ve realized I don´t have to change neither the crew, neither the manager at my stations; The real problem is the player, back in my home. ;-D Thanks for another freaking full of nice tips round!

I'm fairly certain you don't need Solid and Liquid storage if you're JUST making a S/M Fab... just Containers. Are you sure you need them?

No you don't need the solid and liquid if the station is strictly for shipbuilding/fabrication/repairs. Just a crap ton of container storage. Solid and liquid storages are strictly for factories to make the next level of goods that might be used for producing ships or parts. If you don't have any factories on the station, then you don't need it.

Yes it only need container storage for ship parts wares, but the others will be needed for a self-sufficient wharf.

I built the Station something like yours. I have 8 Cargo Ships gathering materials. How long will it take the Builder to complete.
