@@patiencewoodrell I want to try this hair style, my natural hair goes down to my waist so I was wondering how many bundles you think I’ll need to purchase? And yes of course girl you’re fabulous (:
@patiencewoodrell3 жыл бұрын
@@nailaspeaks-labrie8632 If your hair is down to your waist you'll probably need triple the amount of bundles that I used, which was 3! I am not a pro though, using human hair to braid on waist-length hair is a whole other ball game lol! I would definitely consult with a pro braider to get their opinion, my guess is that they would probably recommend using synthetic hair to braid past your real hair, and then adding the human hair ends. I hope that helps!

Now that I’ve been doing my own knotless braids with synthetic hair, the next challenge is this style. You killed it! 😍
@SimplyStacyAllen4 жыл бұрын
Your braids look amazing! I decided to braid my own hair during lockdown as well. I used to braid my hair in high school, but I'm now in my 40s, so I wanted to see if I still had the skill. I, too, was inspired by Zoe Kravitz after watching Big Little Lies. I WISH I knew her braid secrets! This was also my first attempt using human hair and BOY...I can say it's definitely a challenge. It took me two weeks to braid my hair. I used Babydoll hair extensions in varying lengths. It was SUPER expensive because I used 4-5 bundles. It got kind of messy when I cut the hair off the weft, and a lot of hair ended up tangled up in the trash. The only issue I have is keeping my braids neat. They seem to get messy after about a month or so, and I find myself constantly touching up braids one at a time. Also, I use a slip knot and I must not be great at it, because AS SOON as I wash my hair, my braids unravel and the slip knots come loose. I tried nail glue, but found it left a hard, shiny area on the braid that was very visible in my opinion. Also, if I glue it, then I can't reuse the hair or rebraid with the same piece of hair, and I simply don't have the money to keep buying expensive hair. I don't see any glue spots in your hair though, which is awesome. I am really interested in trying out the woven hair. Can you do an update video in about a month or so, so we can see how the braids held up? The Babydoll extension hair I use tends to get matted after a while. It could just be poor maintenance on my part though. Thanks for doing this video. It came out great and you look gorgeous!
@patiencewoodrell4 жыл бұрын
Awe thank you so much for the kind comment! I really love this hair, it's been a little over a month now and it's holding up great. I haven't had any braids slip out. And I can easily refresh this hair by wetting it in the shower. I have touched up the braids around my edges once. You definitely have to make sure you wear a scarf every night with this hair, I will admit I am not the best at that lol. The secret to the nail glue is when you braid well past your hair, to dab a little nail glue between the strands. So that you are not necessarily placing it on top of the hair if that makes sense? Hope this helps!

Wow, this reminds me of when I was in my 20's. My braids were micro braids instead. I always went to a hairstylist to get them done. I only do single plaits on myself but just my real hair and under my wigs. Girl, I love your braids! I think that if I try those braids now. The braids would need to be braided further down as my real hair is bottom bsl to mid back.

This is so annoying... when did big micro braids turn into "Zoe Kravitz Braids." All she did was use human hair to braid her hair. This is so 2005, 2008, 2010....it's nothing new. The hair is called yaki hair bulk (deep wave, loose wave, etc. ). The reason why the hair is so hard to find now is that black women started buying more wigs, weaves, and human hair braiding hair is no longer in high demand.
