James Toney and Roy Jones discuss what kind of tablecloth they'd like for the tea party. Toney was trim, Roy was not shot, and Lampley was without grey.

I don't know, Roy was smoother in terms of Will Smith-style, but I think Toney comes off funnier and more down-to-earth. Love that sarcastic "great" in response to Jones's "you just gotta get taught a lesson." Also, that doesn't look like James Toney, that looks like James Toney's son.
@Slimkidd73014 жыл бұрын
What do that mean? Doc Holliday said that?
@SmelOdies16 жыл бұрын
Fast-handed, unorthodox, slick boxer Michael Nunn gave Toney a lot of trouble for many rounds, but then Toney broke him down and stopped him. Toney had to know that Roy's style would present problems for as long as it lasted. Did he think he would just catch Roy eventually?

Mistachill, I think that in this phase of his career, Toney struggled with his weight because he really wasn't a natural middleweight.He weighed 205 in High School and naturally should be 190-205.

Umm he caught him with a left hook which stopped Jones in his tracks, another left hook that made him pause, and jab that interrupted his flurry, I never said Jones didn't stun him. If u saw the fight u would know that Toney didn't land that many punches but the one's that did land had ill effects on Jones.

I believe even if Roy was fighting in the same era Toney was, he still would have given Toney a hard time, Toney's problem is his "gangsta" ego, I ain't mad at him, cuz you have to be confident in yourself in everything you do, that's how you win, but if you tell me you're gonna knock me out, I'M GONNA WANNA BREAK YO JAW NIGGA!, I'M GONNA WANNA BREAK EVERY BONE IN YO BODY, WHEN MY STONEHANDS MAKE CONTACT WIT YO BODY, I'M HEARIN' BONES CRACK NIGGA!

I know this post is a year old, i just want to make this clear. Toney has always had weigh problems... he has always had trouble cutting weigh. This is just one of the cinks in toneys armor, some have bad chins, some have really bad discipline, some have really bad nerves or lack heart... Toney's big issues were that he had weigh issues always. this bs that he had nothing left is garbage, he got outboxed. Toney can be too stationary at times... if RJJ came straight at him, he would have loss
@JLeo77712 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don't want to hear this weight thing no more. Guess what? James Toney was weight drained in nearly every fight he fought at MW/SMW. The guy did not naturally weigh 160... he weighed 200+ in high school when he played football. That was his normal weigh. This is also one of the reasons why he was able to move up without little difficulty, because he never fought at his 'natural' weigh. He was really drained for Nunn too... he had a lot of difficulty getting the weight off.
@disyaboij12316 жыл бұрын
i like the way you said excuse bro just when we said he lost 25 lbs after the ruiz fight to fight tarver you said that was a stupid excuse toney got his ass beat nd you cant say shit to dat foo
@Mistachill17 жыл бұрын
The way I look at it, it was Toney's fault he put on so much weight that he struggled to take it off? Thomas Hearns struggling to make weight is one thing because he always stayed in shape. Toney struggling to make weight cuz he was undisciplined and liked to eat is something else.
@SmelOdies17 жыл бұрын
He's only 5'8" or so. I'm sure most nutritionists, trainers, doctors would advise not weighing that much at that height, and apparently he needed steroids in the heavier weight classes.

I dunno cuz if Floyd choose to use his feet and 12 rounds without shoulder roll in the corner hmmm i dont think the truck can hit him. thats what i mean by track shoes on. If Floyd can back Paquiaco off by some reson, I see Floyd wining cuz hes all rounded. He can chase or even run away. There is no senario for pacman to out box Floyd. Hes gotta go in like Tyson. If he runs or stops, hes dead. HOWEVER, Pacquiao is a solid pancher and he can finish you any-even later rounds.

ILL effects? LMAO! That's crap and you know it. Jones was never hurt by Toney. Sure, Toney hit him a few times but there was not one time in that fight where you could say Jones was hurt or even stunned. Just because he stopped him in his tracks doesn't mean he hurt him. Gil Clancy even remarked in the broadcast that Toney caught Jones coming in and NOTHING happened. I have the fight on tape and have watched it at least 2 dozen times. I actually picked Toney to beat Jones but keep it real here.

hahahah The worst comment I have ever seen. Benn,Eubank, McCallum, and Toney were super middles at this time. Tony Thorton and Thomas Tate??? hahahahahahahhahahahahhahhahahahahahah
