Number 5 entirely depends. Yes nothing about the in-game timer increases the natural spawn rate of enemies, however Automaton Comissars and Troopers can call down more bot drops the longer the game goes on, and more bug holes spawn as well

When a bot has primed his flare to call for reinforcements, it is still possible to kill him before he is able to shoot it. If you see the red light in its hand focus him and you might be able to avoid some unwelcome guests! I am still waiting for confirmation whether it’s possible for the Bugs Pheromone scream as well. EDIT: Multiple fellow helldivers were able to confirm that is possible to intercept the Pheromone scream as well. Thanks! Good hunting fellow divers!

So far in my experience just inform your squad mates to watch out for bugs rearing up. You can usually get them before they get the pheromones off but it's window is not very forgiving.

The moment you see bugs spewing that orange pheromone kill it. It has a very small window before it would summon the bug breach, it is very tight window too.

Theres like a half of second from pheromone release or so to kill it, so its hella anoying, but doable, on my last misson had 2 bugs back to back doing pheromone call, but i was able to kill em right in time as their pheromones just started leaking out(it was medium ones btw, not small ones, dunno of it matters). You just gotta watch out for animations(was lucky to have that shotty with stun on hit, that one with shell load and 405 damage)

Thing I've noticed with bugs, the time between them making the call in noise and very short time after they do the first plume of orange is the window to avoid a big tunnel breach. Of course keep an eye for a bug about to rear up to avoid this too but if they do rear up this is your window

Extra tip: stop fighting every goddamn bug you see when you're solo. You're not going to kill them all before they start calling in 5 bile titans and 6 charagers and end up wasting 10 minutes of time before you swallow your pride and run halfway across the map back to you buddies doing the objective with an entire colony's worth of bugs on your tail

Some specifics that might help y’all with this info: If every helldiver in a mission is within 75 meters of another diver, then they will sort of count as one entity, and only one patrol will spawn once the spawn timer is up. However, if, say, one helldiver is further than 75 meters away from another one, then two patrols will spawn. If three divers are all spread out over 75 meters from each other, then 3 patrols will spawn at once and so on. If you split up into pairs and the two members of each pair stay within range of eachother, but the two groups are split up, then just two patrols spawn. HOWEVER, the game will not always spawn one patrol per group. Sometimes all of the patrols will spawn on the same player. So if you want less patrols, stick together. As for the timer, completing the main objective will lower the timer by 50%, so they’ll spawn twice as often. Taking out half of the outposts will also make the timer start to decrease in incriminate of 5-15% (somewhere in that range but I don’t remember which). Completing side objectives (like radio tower or illegal transmission) will also lower the timer by a small amount. I wouldn’t worry too much about being near bug holes or fabricators, they’ll spawn like 3 enemies a minute or something while you’re within 50 meters (not including stalker nests which are different and have a longer range), and when you’re out of range they will only end up spawning like 5 mobs throughout the whole mission. One last interesting piece of info: if a helldiver dies, there is a chance of a patrol immediately spawning regardless of the timer. I’m not sure if that resets the timer or not, but if someone dies just expect enemies to show up pretty quickly. Hope this helps, fellow divers!

I always split from my team and get most of the bug nests, side objectives, and points of interest. Basically either sneak around enemies, take them out quickly, or pick big fights (usually big nests) when my team triggers a drop/breach.

The supply backpack is OP, it basically gives you a full supply drop as a backpack. And you can call down a resupply and resupply yourself AND your backpack at the same time, potentially doubling every resupply drop! Source: tested it myself

@@Majorx93 I haven't used the supply pack so I can't guarantee this, but I’m assuming they're saying this: Picking up a supply box from the supply strategem gives you grenades, stims, and ammo, but also refills the supply pack slightly It would be suboptimal to take everything from the supply strategem to fill up the pack because those could be used to give supplies to teammates By dropping the pack and having everyone take a box from the supply strategem, you're able to have the benefits of resupplying everyone and refilling the supply pack to max tldr: you can resupply everyone once and refill the supply pack to full

Skull admiral here. For bugs especially the flying ones. The gatling sentry is amazing.. bring it. You can upwards of x50 kill streaks with that thing alone. Got bots? Bring an auto cannon sentry. They sneeze on hulks. Do not sleep on your sentry, bring them. Because if a bot drop or bug breach occurs, those things will quickly stop that threat.

Tip if you're going off alone. If you see the notification that there is a bot drop/bug breach, you can engage enemies as long as you're quick. Those are on timers. I've heard that in level 9 missions, they happen every 2 minutes. Also, if you do split, team up with one other person. I've done many level 7 missions, and the easiest I've been able to clear it is when the team is split 2/2 doing multiple objectives. Just watch out for the heavy nests/Bot bases, as those will probably require the whole team to help clear.

One thing I think if you take out all enemy outposts it reduces enemy spawns dramatically at least I’ve seen in on automaton planets also when I normally do missions there are times where the four spilt into groups of two and cover more ground.

I mean, if atleast one individual in both teams is very sufficient in surviving and completing goals/clearing fortifications - and the map is arranged in a way where it would be way less efficient to traverse as a group, then there should be no stopping that. Apart from that, I like to play with a friend and we have a tendency to spread out. Most of the times, randoms then follow either of us or split with us.

A tip, if you get any of the servo assisted armors, they increase your throwing range by 30% which lets you lob a stratagem from outside the alert distance of an outpost. So you can detonate small and medium outposts without even getting close if you practice your aim arc

Before doing the main objective and after collecting samples, you can drop off the samples at the pelican pick-up so if you’re undemocratically killed in battle, you don’t have to worry about any lost samples. Stay safe helldivers.

There’s a heat system in the game, and it builds whenever you complete objectives, call in stratagems, staying at P.O.I.s, etc. so by splitting off and doing objectives on your own, you are raising that heat meter causing a horde to come whenever that heat meter maxes out.

In my experience whenever you are doing a mission or side objective with a terminal or drill thing that takes time to process, normally there’s more bot drops and waves of teminids possibly trying to stop you. Idk but that’s happened every time to me

This has been confirmed by some testing but take it with a grain of salt: enemy spawn from the direction of the nearest outpost. So be aware of where the remaining outposts are so you can determine where the patrols can come from. If you destroy all the outposts, then the enemies spawn near the edge of the map. However due to how the new spawn system works, the patrols won’t spawn near Helldivers. If you hug the edge of the map, you won’t encounter too many patrols. Also extraction sites are usually near the edge of maps, this means if you destroy all the outposts your extraction won’t be hit with too many patrols. But be aware the extraction does attract enemies and patrols that find you can still call for reinforcements

It helps when being overrun for 3 guys to fall back while 1 circles around. The spawns will follow the 3 and as long as they keep killing, the spawns keep giving them more attention. The last guy can go hit the terminal. High risk high reward. Probably won't work until you know how to travel solo safely, but once you get that down it has about a 70% success rate against insurmountable odds

The one im still not sold on is the "50%" figure tossed around. I play solo a lot so i have to keep my head on a swivel and an eye on the radar and the spawn rate never sees a noticeable increase throughout my destructive path. Hell, the walk to extraction after every base and objective is done is usually the emptiest the map is. Until extraction is called. Extraction summons every enemy on the map and ups spawnrate. When i got the achievement for blowing off the Hulk's arms and leaving it alive it was charging over a hill from the literal opposite side of the map as Pelican landed.

Ngl, I’ve found that rushing the bug nests and mushroom things shrieker nests before the main objective it makes the spawns a lot more manageable to deal with it feels like, love dropping and finding a stalker lair quickly and taking it out that way you never see them in the match it feels like

So essentially split into two groups, each meant to tackle side objectives. Once those are all hit, have one person join the other group so a group of 3 can tackle enemy outposts while one takes on main objectives. (Generally what my group does except just doing sides and outposts.)

splitting up does actually considerably increase the number of spawns. Each "group" will have its own patrol spawns. However, given it is unlikely one group's patrol will run into anyone else before despawning, there's little risk to splitting up. Especially since reinforcements (drop ships and bug breach) are on a global cooldown

SEAF artillery installations have a auto program where spawns will increase until its done. So its best to have 1 person in stealth armor move the shells and disengage from the area. Then boot the system up, load and leave.

From what i remember reading youre actually supposed to leave asap. Spawn increases the longer you stay in mission and from my experience this seems true cause only failed missions was cause we finished the main objectives too fast and the ship left orbit so we couldnt call in strategems and i remember it being super hectice. There is an uptick in spawns and spawn density the longer you stay in, because the Heat meter is increasing globally, making patrols and patrol difficulty more intense/numerous.

Run helldive difficulty with a pretty solid group. Splitting up into pairs to knock out objectives while otherwise always always always on the move works so well. If one pair struggles at one objective the other pair pulls aggro and draws hoards away.

1.Destroying drop ships after it dropped off reinforcements will always fall on top of the automatons negating it in the process BUT THAT ONLY WORKS IF ITS STATIONARY 2. prioritize dangerous enemies like chargers and destroyer when necessary to avoid unexpected deaths

I can confirm as a novice Helldiver, splitting up is the dumbest thing to do. Not only does this cause more enemies to spawn per person, but makes you much less likely to survive said enemies.

Hi, solo helldiver on Helldive mode here. I'm here to inform that, no it doesn't increase or decrease enemy spawns when M.OBJ are done before secondaries. It spawns regardless of what happens. Typically, most things despawn roughly 200-250 meters away from you. Any mobs that are guarding or stationary at a POI or OBJ will stay permanently regardless of range. Taking them out is the only way to get rid of them. Bug breaches and Bot Drops the only other way to get more enemies. Usually, theres at least 3-4 patrols in your vicinity. Passing 3-4 will eventually despawn one and respawn another closest to you.

Correction on number #4: Each individual has a "heat meter" that will fill up, cause a spawn, then empty. If you have a friend within 75m, it counts as a single player rather than 2. In other words, if you are hitting a large nest, and everyone is more than 75m apart, you will trigger 4 patrols instead of 1. Correction on #3: The heat meter fills when you are 125 meters from a spawner or objective, but the fill rate is low. The fill rate caps at 50 meters, but will increase at a lesser rate from 50-125 depending on distance. You might want to mention that there is also a global heat meter that counts the accumulation of all heat to a certain cap. The global heat meter increases the SEVERITY (size and difficulty) of the spawns, but will not cause spawns by itself. Also the spawns can be avoided. A patrol will spawn, head towards your location, and if it finds nothing continue until despawning. So if you are on the move you can miss spawns entirely.

Just to check what you're saying - there's two heat counts, a patrol trigger heat count that spawns a patrol whenever it fills, then ticks down to zero when it does so, and a global heat count that measures total heat generated which sets the size of patrols, which never resets?

You can reload and throw grenades while using the jump pack. So if you're getting swarmed and need to reorient yourself, bring a jump pack and get some space.

The tip is correct. Staying in a mission allows for the spawn timer to complete more. It does not increase the rate of spawns. If I leave a mission 20 minutes before the mission timer completes, then that's up to 20 minutes of spawn timers not triggering.

While its true that patrol spawns are player location-based and splitting up inreases their number, they are avoidable confrontations and what isn't avoidable are enemy reinforcements getting called in, which, idk about bug breaches, but the mechs definitely have a map-wide cd for dropships, so a sole diver might lay low and wait for dropships to be summoned elsewhere on the map and initiate a fight (minding the nearby patrols) leaving him free to prioritise high impact enemies and not stressing so much to quickly dispatch of raiders/commissars risking the chance to get clean multikills on hulks and devastators

Fun fact: Reinforcements can only be called by enemies that aren't spawned by reinforcements. So if there is an infinite amount of enemies you're close to an outpost sending units your way.

Well Ive played about 200 Hours and from my experience only starting or completing main and side objectives does increase enemy spawns over a limited time. The only thing that increases it somewhat permanently is if you complete the final main objective. And clearing outposts does actually decrease enemy spawns massively by reducing the amount of patrols

I thought the longer you take in a mission, the more likely elite units will spawn. For example, factory strider would have a low chance of being brought in at the start of the mission versus having a higher chance of spawning when there's only 10 minutes left

Here’s something for you peeps diving in diff 6+ terminid missions. If you see a shrieker nest, if you’re far enough away you can snipe the towers with the recoilless rifle without any shriekers actually spawning. Each tower takes 2 hits though, so have a resupply ready.

Splitting up in pairs of 2 is 10/10 way to play. Splits the bugs up between players or lets 2 players run around uncontested getting shit done. On emergency evacuation you can send one person to evacuate and have everyone else out fighting and collecting samples and no bugs go after the one evacuating.

I have no idea how but whenever I'm playing with randoms i end up getting separated and casually destroy a couple of bot bases while the rest do like main objective or look for super samples. It happens a lot and there's been a few times where I don't reunite with the randoms until we extract

Personal experience for me is have 3 people doing nests and objectives and one solo and those 3 people take up a lot of spawns and the solo one can do nests (I have only tested this on bugs) as I have seen a heavy nest with only 2 warriors on hell diver difficulty with this.

Actually splitting up can work really well if the rest of the team calls in either bug breaches or bot drops. That way seemingly nothing spawns on your side and you can easily do outposts or secondary objectives for the team. A team of 3 and one guy going solo has worked best for me in that case.

Actually splitting up will reduce spawns. When you are all together you spawn roughly 2.5x the number of bugs/bots from breaches/airdrops, which you might think is good, because separately you could each spawn a breach/airdrop for x4 total bugs/bots. But no, the pheromones/flare has a global cooldown. Meaning if anyone has a breach/airdrop called in by them, then nobody else will have one called in by them until the cooldown ends. The cooldown does seem to countdown slower the more of you are together, but not by enough to counter the number spawned when all together.

Okay my turn. Laser weapons are good if you have a primary and the laser Cannon. The laser Cannon goes right through medium armor. With about 75% of it heat sink, if you focus on a chargers leg it will die. Always alternate between your primary and your laser Cannon before they over heat. Bring the gaurd dog rover also with laser. You will shred all the lesser bugs, and you can take out everything else with the laser Cannon. Just bring an orbital railgun strike to wipe out bile titans. L Impact grenades kill bile spewers instantly. You can blow up the radio tower. You donr have to angle it or use the cmnd console. Supply pack+machine=unlimited shooting. Jump pack+flamethrower is a high skill setup. But you can kill a charger with 75% of it tank if you hurt it directly. When fighting a hoard boost back with the jump pack while continuing to fire. Autocannon can destroy bug nests Railgun can 1 tap all automatons accept tanks, if you shoot then in the weak spot. The tanks weak spot Is its engine or the red panels on the side of the turret.

Actually as time ticks by the enemy becomes tougher. Since lore wise they are narrowing down your location

Yeah skull admiral here, spawns absolutely do increase in intensity the longer you’re in. Like once the clock goes into the red. Spawns come when you trigger objectives, but ime it’s best to knock those out fast if you can. Time > getting every single individual little nest or fab. 5-10xp vs a %based bonus, no contest imo.

Fleet Admiral, SES Flames of judgment. Going solo can work against you if he lingers. “Hit and run” or else you are going to have a horde behind you. Then you just end up leading them back to your team.

Also use the augment localized confusion, it reduces enemy encounter time between battles on the battlefield.

1) I split up from my team all the time and bug breaches only open on one spot at a time on the map 2) the entire point of taking out outposts is to reduce enemy patrols

with the bots it seems they cant reliably call reinforcements in multiple areas a tactic i use is to have my team cause a big fight and have a guy with light armor rush around and do objs that dont draw attention seems to work since if the guy on his own gets caught they cant seem to call in buddies to help on that one guy

the truth is. there is a finite amount of enemies that can be spawned in because there is a "unit cap" this is why if 3 of you get into a monster firefight and kill nothing but shoot back to maintain aggro the 4th player can litteraly roffle stomp a map uncontested or with minimal resistance based on what the other 3 have killed. also the spawn cap goes up by difficulty. the only thing our discord has yet to confirm is whether or not different enemy units have a different cost associated with it.

My buddies and I actually split up, one group gets them to spawn and tries to take as much agro as possible while the other two go do the mission. For whatever reason it completely leaves the two doing the mission unharmed as they have literally nothing spawning on them!! Yall should give it a try I swear to god it works a little too well

Pretty sure outpost patrol spawns drop to zero once all outpost are destroyed leaving only the naturally spawning patrols. Which might spawn 50% more often but it's still less than with the outpost patrols mixed in.

Well the 50 meters away from outpost was a vague tip.. if you look to see where the guards are looking you can walk...NOT RUN... walk up almost to like 7ft away and ambush them... aslong as they dont see or hear you you are safe

My partner and me did a misson last night against the bots and I blew the tower with a disposable from pretty far away, and we skirted around the map to get nearly all the poi's. When we called extraction cause we never actually fired a single shot and never got detected , nothing spawned for extract. Finished the mission with zero kills , zero deaths, and zero shots taken. Lol It just kinda happened by accident as she is terrified of the bots so I had the radar booster on.
