I wish virtual DJ would release their own standalone controller that had the software built into it. It would be an absolute game changer, especially if made well. Or at the very least, hopefully some of the other companies like Denon and Pioneer will catch up and be able to have the stems feature standard as a pad function, because the stems feature that virtual DJ provides pretty much makes everything else obsolete at least for me and my mixing style. Just sucks that I need to have a laptop to utilize it. I want to use it standalone lol!!!

You can actualy, to export STEMS TO USB. But Engine soft does recognize i guess. So again back to XZ :(

Agree absolutely. Stems are the way forward - I think in time they also will develop a drum stem feature. - like if the lower four pads could separte the drums into kick, snare, hihat and what? bongos? Would be awesome!. Though its hard to sleep on the flx10, but Pioneer seem to be just missing the point. Laptop djing is not cool!, now I also want 8hrs plus battery and built in speakers LOL :D Cant wait to see what Denon has up its sleeves

Glad I came across your comment.. I'm a die hard VDJ user for many years and been on the fence about getting the prime 2 but can't find any videos on Utube with something using the P2 with vdj so it works perfect ?

@@DJTyme209 Yes. It works great. You can use VDJ on your laptop with the Prime 2. You can even close your laptop - utilizing only the screen on the Prime 2.

I can tell you now that virtual DJ & prime 4 are a deadly combination. You have everything you need at the touch of a button. I went from numark to Pioneer to the Denon Prime 4, and this is the best controller I've used so far. But the jog wheel takes getting used to. So now I'm spending my time to master using this controller, one or two years max with this then I'll get the ultimate DJ set up CDJ’s-3000s & DJM-900NXS2 - unless there's something better I don't know about

Hi There can you help me eiwh an issue i have ? I'm using virtual dj with Prime 4. bUT IN COMPUTER MODE the gain level is so low. MORE THEN 6db . If you try to record tyour mix through virtual Dj the gain level is so low that you have to normalise your archive . I think it is something simple but i cna't find where can i increase the gainn level in computer mode. thanks a lot in advanced .Apostolos

Hello James . Kudos on the excellent videos and reviews. Clear and concise. I have been trying to get the answer to a relatively simple question but hard to believe there's none out there. I use (and LOVE) my Virtual DJ. When Denon came out with SC5000 they were very enticing especially with special pricing but no native support for VDJ. The SC6000 made me salivate and really made me want to buy . I use the Pioneer CDJ 400 (yes the 400 ...LOL . Very stable and solid it gave me the reliability and performance I needed which is crucial as a mobile DJ) . My question is about connectivity Right now I connect each CDJ to my Macbook Pro and VDJ detects the decks and each deck is either Deck 1 or 2 and RCA goes from each deck to mixer . The mixer I use is a Yamaha MG12 or MG16 XU ...Analog mixer yes (but it does have a USB in back which I never use except for Facebook Live performances). I was told and I read on VDJ website that SC6000 does NOT have a soundcard . How do I use them then ? How do you connect the SC6000 to Macbook and how do you set up the AUDIO and HARDWARE sections of the SETTINGS in VDJ to work like CDJ ? This is crucial for me buying or NOT buying these denon decks . Thanks in advance

Good question. You can make the Prime 4 expose the storage to the PC, which is how you get music on it in the first place without taking it out, but i don't know if you can do that while in MIDI mode, would make sense though. If it works, you'll just need to browse to the drive in VDJ's file explorer, it will just be like any other drive for the software.

Virtual DJ is by far the best DJ software out there, and now to intergrate it with the prime series is awesome, don't know how Pioneer are going to comeback from this, especially with their awful Rekordbox system, that you need a degree in software design to understand....

@@m-stat9 to be honest, VDJ wipes the floor with every other software if you ignore proprietary stuff like CDJ export mode in Rekordbox. VDJ either does it better, or does more than the competitors. Edit: Oh wait VDJ is now the only other software on the planet that can export to CDJs now... no need for Rekordbox.

You don't have to! It is recommended if you (also) want to use it Standalone. But you can also analyze raw files on-board.

Good video giving more options & showing versatility of the P4. However, for me it is a big big no-no 😉 The reason I got the prime 4 was to be standalone & to remove the risk of laptops playing up. The stems is no big deal for me - the kill EQ is almost as powerful but I can always make my own mashups using the MIK software and download as an mp3. I'm sure some will like to use a laptop & so it is good to have the choice.

Not sure if that's sarcasm, but i don't think that's anything special with VDJ. You just need to configure the computer to not go into sleep mode when closing the lid, otherwise all the programs will be paused.
