That knot planing technique was new to me. Makes perfect sense, but just never occurred to me to try that accurate stop on a knot. I have just planed through them with speed and controlled the tearout with narrow mouth. I certainly will give this a go, thanks!

esa062 I must say this is probably one of the most difficult things to teach/learn. I'm no expert by any means, but every new challenging board makes me better. I think the best way to learn is to get some tough boards and just experiment.
