It also could be a really cool day and night shift too we dont know. The myth states that day becomes night and vice versa because Skol and Hati chase the sun and moon. As we see here the sun wasnt captured and it turned to night. Also most likely they arent trying to purposely start Ragnarok so it makes a lot of sense that they either need time to pass or need it to be night time or just discoverying more of Atreus godhood powers.

Norse Mythology Info a little, The two big wolves names are Skoll (Sköll) and Hati, Sons of Fenrir. they are two wolves who are only mentioned in passing references that have to do with their pursuing Sol and Mani, the sun and moon, through the sky in hopes of devouring them. At Ragnarok, the downfall of the cosmos, they catch their prey as the sky and earth darken and collapse. Skoll chases the Sun (personified as a goddess, Sól) and Hati chases the Moon (Personified as god, Mani).

My Norse is a little rusty, i read Roger lancelyn green a long while ago to remember it. The wolves are for sure skoll and hadi- One who chases the sun and the moon and causes change of seasons and days. This chase ends at Ragnarok...and both devour their prey. Interestingly, this could mean our father son duo are travelling back in time to before the events of the first god of war took place. Ideally, the poetic Edda says Thor and the world serpent would kill off each other, fenris would kill Odin and Odin would be avenged by Vali...( Not sure )...end of Ragnarok, surtr destroys all realms in flame... Infact surprisingly the only ones surviving the devastation would be - Magni, modi, vidar and Vali.... Well, clearly kratos has f'ed up the order of things...so I'm absolutely anxious for the game to release!!

The "death can have me" line is definitely badass but the key ones are "Fate only binds you if you let it" & "Do what is necessary, not because it is written". Those 2 lines encapsulate Kratos entire life from the original GOW games to now. And to end it with "We make our own destiny" is the cherry on top of it. Perfect lines to describe Kratos in a nutshell!

They basically chase the sun and moon, every day and night until they finally catch them, marking the onset of Ragnarök. When Kratos and Atreus starts the Ragnarok and when Atreus shot the arrow towards sun and one of the wolf started chasing sun that was epic. Odin shows up, Valkyrie doing combo wow, Kratos using a sword like new weapon mind-blowing. Kratos #Godkiller and Thor fighting alone was epic. Atreus is lucky he doesn't have the Kratos from God of war 1 to God of war 3. Zeus is the most powerful God among all Gods in God of war series and blades of Olympus is the most powerful weapon ever, just imagine Kratos using Blades of Olympus in God of war Ragranok and further in future God of war games. Just imagine Kratos having blade of Olympus again and we see old Kratos in Ragnarok. What a time to be alive.....

I have two theories for this game: 1-Kratos will develop an inferiority complex against Atrues because of how strong he's getting, he will get intimidated because Atreus doesn't need him by his side protecting him anymore and he's the one protecting Kratos most of the time instead of the other way around. It will not be the typical worry from a parent like "He doesn't need me to protect him anymore" it will be more like "I'm getting left behind" type mentality almost like a rivalry even. 2-I believe that Atreus's identity it's going to be one of the biggest topics of this game because we know that Loki the god of mischief is the reason why Ragnarok begins and that the tale of Loki already exists in this world as we saw on Yotumheim that Loki's story was already predicted but what about Atreus? Will there be an identity crisis for atreus since he doesn't know who he's supossed to be? I believe that Atreus will be called by a different name than the god of mischief but a name that will still be accurate considering what Loki is supossed to do and be, Atreus will be either called the "God of Chaos" or the "God of Destruction" and he's also the son of the god of war so this seems very possible.
