Just curious why you removed the TPS sensor? There doesn't appear to be anything that needs cleaning inside the sensor since no air or fuel flows through that area.

It's best to remove ANYTHING that's plastic or rubber before you spray carb cleaner on the carb. Some plastics might not be affected by it.. but it's simpler to just make it a habit.

I would try soaking it longer in carb cleaner, then blowing cleaner through it. It is difficult to find a wire small enough.. and you really have to poke around to find the tiny hole. Just do your best, as long as the bike runs good.. whatever you did worked!

So to rejet for an intake. Am I installing wider jets?

The stock jets are 35 small jet and 75 main jet. A good radiator hose style intake will almost always use a 38 small jet. A full length Dayco b71381 hose will probably need 85, or even better 82 main jet. Cut that hose in half, it's close to 78.

I bought a Honda Ruckus in April of 2018 (Brand New At The Time) and I was wondering why does it die when I give it gas... it will start up no problem...but even after I let it warm up..as soon as I give it some gas it Dies ...any ideas on why it does this would be much appreciated

Check that the airbox screws are tight.. especially the lower center screw many people miss. I would also open the airbox and examine the filter, make sure it's clean.. if the bike has ever been on it's side, oil may have soaked it too. Basically, it sounds like have with an air leak or not enough air flow.

@@GETlife On the pilot jet, the hole in the top of the jet is that supposed to be clear all the way to the bottom? Mine is clogged and the jet wires are not cleaning it out. Thank you Thank you

If you're talking about the air/fuel adjustment.. there's a thin brass plug covering it. You should not need to adjust it usually. But if you really really need to.. you can carefully drill it out. Under the plug, which won't be on older carbs, the a/f screw has a D shaped head. You can GET a d-bit tool at jets r us.

I have a 2011 Honda Ruckus. It has 11,000+ miles on it. I hit a large pot hole today and it would refuse to accelerate. I got the bike home and checked the filter in the air box and it’s good. I noticed the main duct from the air box to the carb was damaged. So, I wrapped duct tape around the intake duct but the problem did not improve. Do you have any idea what this might be? Thank you for your help Justin Wooley

Did you check the exhaust header under the engine? Look under the bike for any damage. Use a mirror if needed.

You seriously need to wear gloves when working with these kinds of chemicals. You should never mess with the vacuum side of the carb. Leave the diaphragm alone. Clean the fuel side of the carb, Yes absolutely, but don’t touch the diaphragm unless you know the slide is not moving. Its almost always a bad fuel damage and thats all in the float bowl. Pulling out the float pin shaft is done with a small drift. Jets should be cleaned on a parts cleaner and small wires or pins can be used to dislodge fully clogged jets. The mixing tube should be pulled and verified clean especially the pilot jet.
