Not sure how the Samsung fold made this list as Razr and Samsung are competing in the foldable sector. I have both Motorola razr plus and Samsung Z flip 6. Samsung has two major advantages, one being the deciding factor to switch back to Samsung. Samsung has an amazing ecosystem that isn't monopolized like Apple does, and the screen quality build/hinge is superior to Motorola Razr plus. Less than a year, the Razr plus screen fold section is starting to crack, their software, stock file explorer will not access files. Thus I switch back to Samsung. The flag ship phones are too big for me to sit comfortably in pockets.

Betamax wasn't a complete failure, it became the standard tape for TV stations. Like TV shows, commercials and news. The TV industry stayed with Betamax because the quality was higher and the players were easier to repair than VHS. A lot of the high quality cameras back then used Betamax. Also a lot of video editors used Betamax players back then.
@haweater1555Ай бұрын
Not exactly. TV studios and stations used Betacam. The tapes looked the same but recorded in a different format on different tape. Standard format for physically distributing whole TV series to broadcasters. In the 80s/90s if a TV wanted to rerun a series they got a big box of tapes shipped to them. Now it comes either directly downloaded or received a small harddrive arriving in the mail.
@thortele11 күн бұрын
And the main reason that VHS "won" this techbattle was that the p0rn industry invested heavily in VHS. While Betamax was far superior.
@haweater155511 күн бұрын
@thortele Surprising, since most p0rn videos were sold by mail in plain packages, that the smaller Beta tapes weren't used due to being cheaper to ship.

Funny thing about the zune. When my wife and I were newly married we were having a terrible argument as many newly weds do. I went to Walmart after work and bought her a zune to try to smooth things over. It did work and we're still together 18 years later. @Solitaire001Ай бұрын
I think one problem with the Zune was that Microsoft tried to go head to head with Apple at a time when Apple had a large amount of the market. My understanding is that another factor was that the device wasn't quite ready when they released it. The software had issues, and some of the touted features didn't work or didn't work properly. What might have worked better is for Microsoft to release the Zune as only a music player, with the features and PC software working perfectly. Then, as features are perfected, they are added to the player.
@LordTopleyАй бұрын
Absolutely loved my Zune. I bought one on a trip to the US and used it for years in the UK. Lots of people asked about it and wanted to get one, but Microsoft decided to only sell in the US and Canada. One of the zune models had an odd issue. If you are actively using it on new years eve, right at midnight when the year changes over the device completely bricks. Only fix for it was to use certain button presses to factory reset it or use your pc. I had a later model that was a gears of war 2 edition and loved it. Had a nice looking interface, easy to add music and video files in comparison to ipods and had a little bit of the personalization itouch have on a budget. Unfortunately zune had a lot technical issues especially with the hdd, i went through 3 of em and thankfully microsofts customer support was such a breeze to deal with and i typically got a replacement sent to me in a month. A lot comes to mind when i think about why it failed, marketing for it seemed almost non existent, was notoriously known for not lasting, during that time too was the high demand for apple products. By the time they integrated a touch screen, it was too little too late for zune, apple already had a plethora of apps and games by this point and the smart phone market started to blossom

Fun fact about the galaxy seven. Well I myself never had one. I’ve always been an iPhone person. Purely because I’ve had negative interactions with Samsung phones for years. A friend of mine actually did have one. And one time he tried to get onto an airline. The airline actually asked him what kind of cell phone he had. When he mentioned which one he had the individual behind the desk scribbled something onto a little card and told him to give said card to the stewardess once he got on the flight. He didn’t know what it was And he didn’t know why. But he took the card got onto his flight and then handed the card to one of the stewardesses. The stewardess, then went back to the back of the plane and came back with a little box. This box looked almost like one of those little safes that she would put something like a pistol in. Confused, he didn’t understand what was happening. The stewardess then went on to explain that because of the concern with the battery issue with his phone, he was going to have to have it put in this little box. This box was a essentially reverse fire safe. The idea of being that if the phone were to combust, it would stay contained inside this little box. Now, unfortunately, this also meant that he wouldn’t be able to use it while on the flight. And well, yes, you can’t make cell phone calls on flights. This also of course meant that he couldn’t use it as a little computer tablet. If I remember correctly, one of the first things he did when he got home off of the flight was he immediately went to aI think it was a Verizon store and bought a different phone. Not that I blame him.

The second version had much better video quality but the heat problem still persists and they went to eye tracking which only works when there's enough light another big oversight. Haha, dang Blockbuster. Netflix tried to sell the company to Blockbuster and Blockbuster basically laughed at them. Ultimately it was Netflix that put Blockbuster out of business once Netflix turned into a streaming service because with streaming, there was no need to go and rent videos anymore. Hearing this, that BB tried to steal Netflix's idea of mailing out DVD's it makes me wonder why BB didn't just buy Netflix when they had the chance? I don't even understand how Netflix's original concept was successful. You go online, pick the movies you want to rent and then they mail those movies to you, sounds so stupid. Its like "Well, I think I wanna watch some movies next week so if I order them now they'll be in the mail by the time I need them." Maybe people liked that you could hang onto them for aslong as you want, but it still seems dumb to me. What am I missing here?? Whoever came up with the idea for dropping that and switching to streaming is a genius. They basically came up with the idea of streaming. Netflix was basically the first streaming company and the only one that's really profitable these days. Crazy how they went from a dumb idea that somehow worked of mailing DVD's to people to a streaming service.
