I loved that Steve asked questions to Cameron so he could tell his whole story about getting shot at 10. Well no fucking wonder he joined a gang. At age 10, he gets shot and in that moment realizes that he needs to take extreme measures to stay alive. His whole life was decided for him at age 10. Heartbreaking. The sisters & girlfriends got an open safe forum to speak about their feelings to their brother and he heard them. Steve is doing here what every good father should: listening without judgment & providing guidance without bullshit.

This is the best talk show episode I've ever seen. He's only 19.... I was once a really screwed up teenager and it resulted in to a bad heroin addiction. I didn't stop until prison stopped me. I have an amazing life now and it's been 10 years now that I've been clean and a productive member of society. At 19 he's got a much better chance of learning a new way of life that will save himself, his family and every person he makes contact with a lifetime of trauma and pain. I'd love to see an update on this case. I'll be sending positive vibes to him and his entire family. I love your show Steve and I appreciate the good work you do. Thank you, Tonya

There's no such thing as addiction, you could've stopped if you wanted to. You're sober now, right? You know damn well all types of drugs can get smuggled into prison, so knowing this, you decided not to partake if they were around, right? Well, you had that same choice before prison, and you chose to use that drug, so you aren't an addict. There is no such thing. YOU CHOSE the drug. YOU. Nobody put a gun to your head and made you want it. YOU DID THAT TO YOURSELF and I'm not gonna congratulate you nor pat you on the back because YOU CHOSE to finally pull your head out of your ass and become a productive member of society. I don't feel one ounce of sympathy for you.

I was in this situation but way worse than this story on this video... My man is a "malignant narcississt," a narcississt does NOT LOVE anyone bcuz they do not love theirselfs, they do not love children either!! Look up the 4 kinds of narcississt's & you will learn alot.. I did, the video's on youtube helped me free myself from his control & abuse.. I "thought I loved my man" HE had my brain controlled!! I cannot literally "gag him" now!! I never would imagine me saying this...listen carefully when these boys abuse, there is men not boys out there that would never ever dream of abusing us, we just have not met the right ones... I am telling YOU the truth my EX makes me sick to my stomach!! Read on please: My man abused me horribly, HE tried killing me 4 times, HE poisened my soda, HE tried stabbing me 2 separate times, then the last time HE strangled me almost to death, HE beat my head in badly & HE ripped almost all my hair out of my head, the State Attorney lady said HE is "highly dangerous" & has a lengthy criminal record since HE was a teenager, HE is a psychopath, bipolar, paranoid, controlling, a manipulator, HE drinks alcohol AND HE does drugs.. HE is addicted to alcohol, HE is addicted to drugs & HE is addicted to porn, HE is addicted to females, YES HE is a cheater, they party drugs & alcohol & have alot of SEX while they are out in the streets!! HE is a thief, HE stoled numerous things of mine, HE poisened my 5 animals, 2 of my animals SUFFERED & DIED!!!! 3 of my animals were deadly sick & lost all their hair but made it somehow...all my animals bloated up huge!! I dont know how 3 of them even made it... HE stalks me, HE accuses me of cheating all the time.. HE had gps tracking on me/on my 4 of MY vehicles, HE is violent, HE rages at me daily, HE beats me whenever HE chooses...HE is a mental mess, HE is a "MONSTER!!" HE finially got arrested on the warrant & this is HOW I got rid of HIM for good!!!! The Police would NOT help me until he strangled me & I had severe bruises all over & finger nail cuts all over AND welts all over me... While HE was locked up I changed my deadbolts to MY house that I own... I am taking nomore!! HE only did 10 months & was let out bcuz of Covid!! HE is STILL STALKING ME & coming to my house.. I have the house still but I dont stay there, I come & go in no vehicle...he can pick the days I am inside, I have a conceal & carry & HE will get shot if HE breaks in my house with me there!!!! Drugs make a person sick in their head, off in their head & they can KILL YOU!! The State Attorney told me he is also a "MURDERER!!" OMG I almost fainted!! My EX is a "BOY" HE is not going to change EVER & most likely your "boy" is not going to either, they get help bcuz "someone pushes them to get help," then after treatment when the stress keeps happening in HIS life they go back to their same life, watch & see.... "YES" I said "BOY" bcuz a "MAN" would never put a finger on a female EVER!!!! IF HE beats YOU, HE will eventually abuse your chidren.. Your children deserve better! It's all about the children now not the parents...

That dude is genuinely scary and dangerous and this is coming from someone who grew up in Baltimore city! This is one of the most real and serious episodes that I have seen because this dude ain’t trying to play tough, he is hard-core and doesn’t know any other way. He’s the type of dude that you will see on the 10 o’clock news. I see no soul in his eyes like he’s drugged out and his girlfriend seems completely defeated. I mean, for a man to strangle his little sister and beat the crap out of his pregnant Gf and seems to have no remorse… He may say that he wants help but his actions and body language say different. I think this woman needs to run before something happens to her or before social services takes her kids away from her for allowing them to be in a home with domestic violence.

Well you’d know better than me but what I saw for a lot of the episode is a young man who really just wanted to cry for most of the show but is good at the stoic affect and doesn’t know how to have a healthy outlet for his emotions because he has no positive masculine role models in his life. I’ve seen people on the show and in real life who are just dead inside and something about the way he answered Steve’s questions just seemed totally the opposite of that. To me he was really thinking about the most honest answer. Which imo just isn’t something that the really irredeemable people try to do, or even can do.

my boyfriend grew up surrounded by gangs, his brother and friends were involved in a gang. he knew better from a young age, seeing how people fucked up their lives doing dumb hood shit. never involved himself even when people asked him to join the crew. being in a gang doesn’t excuse you to beat your wife, to choke your younger sister, it doesn’t excuse any bad behaviour because he had CHOSEN to be involved in a gang, he chose to be a shit father, boyfriend and brother- he is ultimately responsible for his shitty choices and actions.

A lot of times we look at men like him as the worst people regardless of age. This story shows that most of these people have experienced extreme trauma in their lives. Unfortunately, most don’t see the error of their ways until it’s too late. This man has realized it before that point, and I’m glad he accepted the help. Does anyone know if the story had an update?

Steve still have that police mentality. Once a cop, always a cop. This young man didn't have a clue. He stood their incriminating himself over and over again. He should have had a father in his life to teach him the right way. Boys generally do not listen to women, they steer more towards men. It's a shame to see life pass him by.

Nah. My husband had it rough. He’s Salvadorian and grew up in the streets of Elizabeth, NJ. It ain’t a joke there. Ask around. He was MS13. Real gang gang shit. And yet he’s never put a finger on me. Barely even raises his voice when we’re in an argument. He’s quiet. And yet playful and affectionate. It’s inside every male to be a good man. It’s innately KNOWN what the definition of a good man is. Provide and protect. And protection over the woman you love is a NATURAL and PRIMAL reaction. That isn’t something you should have to learn. So if you aren’t doing that…there is something wrong with your brain. Not in a joking way, I mean real brain abnormalities. Brain abnormalities account for much much much more mental illness than ppl realize. The scientific evidence is only now being made public and studied. Having a father show you is great. But there are probably millions of guys who grew up with no father who don’t beat their women. It’s their OWN fault.
@fdgd9998
@fdgd9998 2 жыл бұрын
I wasn't addressing the woman beaten, I was addressing manipulation of Steven behavior as a fellow policeman. He kept asking him questions as though he were interrogating him. I don't expect you to understand that part of life because you probably haven't ever being employed in law enforcement. If the young man had a father, he would have taught him the entanglements pertaining to cops. I was. One evokes the 5th on every question. Get it?

@@Lenape_Lady people in general aren't inherently good or bad. We as humans are variable of both. Often but always, domestic abuse is a learned behavior. I agree that brain "abnormalities" are a cause for what we diagnose as mental illnesses. Children do better and are more well adjusted when a father is in the home. Single parenthood homes have a very drastic effect on a child's development, the evidence is clear in that topic. Kids without fathers are far more likely to adopt a criminal lifestyle. Plus they also have a higher chance of not being disciplined in their endeavors.
@Lenape_Lady
@Lenape_Lady 2 жыл бұрын
@@joshuaweston7787 I do understand and agree. But ppl blaming DV on being fatherless is just BS. Yes I completely understand that coming from a broken home or a single mother with no positive male role model is going to affect a child. I can’t even argue that. But not beating your woman isn’t something that only grown, married men in a stable relationship can teach. It should be an innate response to protect the female. We are primates after all. I believe that woman are equal. We shouldn’t and don’t NEED a man to protect us. But isn’t there something in a guys brain telling them to protect the woman they love? I’m not a guy so I can’t say it as a fact. But isn’t there something primal there? If you saw sone strange dude hitting her you would probably go BALLISTIC. I don’t even know you and yet I know that. You’d probably protect her to your dying breathe, your kids too.

Monday March 28th 2022 I kinda feel sorry for him ! When he looked at her sideways his eyes showed that he had a thousand years of suffering that became hatred , yet he is only 19 yo ! Where was his father and what kind of mother does he have that he became this way ? Parents having children they cannot afford , letting them survive on their own , like him at age 9 ! I don’t care if I had to sleep on a sofa in my living room and rent out my bedroom but I would do so if it would provide me the funds to move to a better neighborhood with an apartment with extra bedrooms to rent , then I would go to the nearest prescient and ask them what I could do to keep my children off the streets ! My cousin is a retired police officer and she would go around on her days off and introduce these children to bowling , fishing , roller skating , swimming , camping , archery, etc and she would teach them the vital need to stay in school get jobs and invest ! And many parents up in the Bronx in New York City were so UNGRATEFUL ! That was 40 years ago ! Out of the 32 children , 7 stayed with only High School Diplomas but the rest became nurses and teachers and policemen , entrepreneurs, one is an attorney and a few brought and renovated buildings and to her today , those are HER CHILDREN ! She never married nor had kids of their own and on holidays her house is full with over 100 people, HER KIDS, their wives and HER GRANDCHILDREN ! She’s in her 70s now and she still tries to teach parents the important on how to raise their children ! But parents will be parents and in reality no parent wants to be told what to do ! This show touched my soul. I always am so disgusted with gang members and their attitude! But i watched this guy's face and when he walked his shoulders and whole demeanor was that of a BROKEN SOUL. Brought up with no protection, gangland and no chance of leaving-peer pressure probably and also you need to look tough! I felt pain watching his eyes and broken shoulder walk! He broke me into pieces honestly! Something about him broke me up! Of course I do not condone beating, strangling etc he is doing. The drugs, drink are part of his 'system' of survival in his world. Gosh he needs soooo much help like to be sent to a sort of place to recover years of pain, anguish, confusion, and even not much positivity around him. I wish I could help him but dont know how as I myself am not really perfect. Steve, can I write to him - I am old enough to be his mum - sooo it would be words of encouragement and might help. Anything helps in this day and age! I am feeling like God sent me something as have been judging people and this guy broke that hard spirit of who cares about a gangbanger going round selling drugs etc! But not his fault as he may not know there is another world out there! Hope all family is well and he too. Please these young people stop having children. There is all types of family planning and they are not ready! Also, was upset girlfriend having a second baby at this time. What does it take to educate young people that bringing children into the world is a huge responsibility and they are not set up for it at all? Anyway, hope all well. Would like to write to Cameron words of encouragement to help himself and family. Let me know.

I don’t get all the sympathy for this guy. I’ve worked with a lot of domestic abuse couples and I could tell he was abusive just by his face. He has that dark aura about him. He may be acting out as a result of pain, but that doesn’t excuse his behavior. Many others go through hard times and don’t abuse their spouse. He needs to seek help for his issues. In the meantime, any potential partners should stay far away from him. “Potential” and hoping he magically changes overnight isn’t worth the risk.

It’s so sad because I’ve been there my ex did all of this when I was pregnant with our daughter and my son seen his own dad yell and shove me down the hallway. I got out! I got help he doesn’t get to see his kids because he is a low life doesn’t have a job and still on drugs. I was there scared thinking I can change him but he almost killed me when I was pregnant. I still struggle to trust men because of him. Poor women that go through this without the help hurts me.

I was close to even seeing if I can get on this show. I didn’t know what to do. Sadly I was there wanting to put him on blast for what he done to me and he took my son away from me taking him to drug houses and I didn’t know if my son got a hold of the coke his dad was doing since I seen photos and proof of it all. Broke my heart I freaked out went to court finally got my babies full custody!!! If he isn’t going to change please get that help!!!

I was a severe alcoholic for years but when I had my son 9 years ago I quit everything. I drank to numb pain from getting beat..everyone has a different reason. He's just a jerk..😞

@@sararosales2943 I used to smoke bud and drink to numb the pain of being raised by abusive parents but I was really just angry and frustrated, once I forgave my abusers and set boundaries so nobody could ever abuse me again, I didn't feel the need to serve myself with bud and alcohol I was such a selfish angry person back then
