That gets sadder when you think more deeply about Suguru's character and as you analyze it more you realize that he was basically poisoning himself by consuming curses to save non-sorcerers, remember what he says about how disgusting a curse tastes and who does he do it for? for the non-sorcerers, those same people who paid to murder another person (Riko), those same people who applauded the death of another human being, those same people for whom one of his friends, Haibara, died while trying to fulfill his mission to protect them and that they probably won't mourn his death, and those same people who mistreated two little girls, which is basically the last nail in the coffin before Geto decides he's had enough of that, and a lot of interesting things come out of there and one of that is the difference between Gojo and Geto when facing what happened with Riko. For Geto, it was a direct blow to reality about that horrible side of humanity, because let's remember that he knew about it and still chose to be a sorcerer to protect them, but one thing is to know it, and another to witness it directly, Geto may have had the non-sorcerers a little idealized in the sense in which he really valued them a lot, something that can be seen in Geto's own ideology, which was basically that the sorcerers and sorcery existed merely to protect non-sorcerers and that is why when he witnessed firsthand everything that those weak people were capable of doing, for him it was a big slap in the face, however in the case of Gojo, he was much more indifferent to that and that is exactly because he did not see protecting the weak as his own cause and you can see that in Gojo's way of thinking, which expresses that for him, taking care of the weak was a pain in the ass, so basically Gojo did not feel that incident as something so big unlike Geto.

This hits hard when you realize he wanted to wipe out all regular people because they were the ones causing all the deaths by creating curses. His comrades kept dying, and he sank into a deep pit of depression which made him question his job as a sorcerer. Why should he help people which are the direct cause of the problem rather than eradicating the problem itself which were them, Instead of watching is friends die over and over for some evil people, he could just eradicate them, They were the cause for it after all... But what really made him snap was how cruel and heartless people were also what Yuki said when she told him about how there were only 2 ways to stop curses which were teaching all humans to be sorcerers or just killing non-sorcerers which was easier. He watched his friends die over and over, trying to protect people who didn't care and were basically the direct cause of all their problems and deaths. Eventually, he just started questioning everything and lost his mind. He probably thought, "If I get rid of all these non-sorcerers, no more curses, right? Why bother protecting these humans who brought this all In the first place?" His madness and downfall into "evil" started when he saw people wrongly blaming two innocent girls for their village's troubles, And locking the innocent girls up. Could you really say he was evil?

After Gojo kills Geto his body has been implanted by the brain of an ancient sorcerer a named Kenjaku, who acquired Geto's body by switching Geto's brain with Kenjaku's, that is how Geto survived but Geto is unable to control his own body. which is why I think it's sad.

Season 1 then the prequel movie and then season 2(the movie will answer your questions) The lore, fights, and power system are good. The animations is a 8.5/10 for me. But basically.. Geto started a war to decieve and distract jujutsu sorcerers so he could capture and use Rika a powerful vengeful cursed spirit, to change the world by killing all non-jujutsu sorcerers, but he failed and got fatally wounded. Gojo found him and they talk for a bit before Gojo killed him. No, Kenjaku is still controlling his body. Gojo and Mei Mei are the only ones who know but as the anime progresses everyone will know.

No it wasn't madness, Geto was actually correct. Non jujutsu sorcerers are the reason that curses exists, unless a jujutsu sorcerer dies and becomes a curse. Killing all non jujutsu sorcerers was the easiest way, well Geto didn't want to see his friends die like Haibara. In truth Geto was just a person who would choose his friends over everything. He said that he never ever hated jujutsu high. It was just like Madara's case, they do it for the greater good but the process is evil.
