Won't stop complaining about OW2. It's absolutely boring to play monkey 2.0. I mean, quake, what's the point of doing those rollouts and searching for spots on the roofs, since the slam makes 0 damage and since doom doesn't have uppercut. Parkour seems totally pointless.

@@GetQuakedOn That's a very unusual statment to make coming from you, a top doom player. Objectively rollouts had their purpose in Ov1. To confirm a kill out of nowhere with minor risk. Especially when doom actually had his tech. In Ov2 it's a different story it has no where near the same impact. So if we're being honest, rollouts were not useless in Ov1.

thats def not an unusual statement. rollouts didn't really have a purpose and wasnt needed. doomfist in ow1 was all about punch botting (same thing now) "to confirm a kill out of no where with minor risk" yeah this is far from being correct. you're extremely predictable and easily countered if you did a rollout, this is why majority of high ranked doom players did not do rollouts and mainly stuck with punching for kills which took less skill and is more easier and consistent to pull off. the impact from ow1 / ow2 is practically the same. it's not needed and useless. punch botting is the king playstyle for both dooms. i dont punch bot so im not going to play like that. im going to stick to playing flashy and doing my silly rollouts cause it takes more skill and effort to execute. rollouts were basically useless and not needed in ow1.

I still disagree with your statement. I am not arguing about which is a more effective ability and playstyle in comparison to the other. Rollouts were objectively not useless in Ov1 as you are describing. They had their purpose and effective uses here and there, there are a plethora of videos online that support this, even at higher levels at play. You can argue that it was stupid it worked, it's an overrated playstyle, it should be used sparingly ect. Doom was less of a punch bot in comparison to Ov1 to Ov2. In Ov1 Dooms other abilities had the potential to confirm kills unlike Ov2. You are over-reliant on punch botting. But back to my point, rollouts had its occasionally use and was not useless.

curious what rank are you on doomfist both in ow1 and ow2. not your peak but avg. kinda disagree with your take and i feel like most high ranked players would agree that rollouts were kind of a meme and that doomfist was a punch bot. even pros who were playing him in ow1 were punch botting both in the league and in comp. even non pros who were 4.4 - 4.5+ on doom were not hitting rollouts. mainly punch botting since its the easiest way to play him, the most consistent and the most value for the risk. slam uppercut wasnt that good punch cancel into uppercut wasnt that good. yes you occasionally go for those in very specific situation but in general you punch bot with doomfist. thats how he was balanced and played.
