Getshokin, Enjoyed the video, thanks! I live in Thailand & bought a new CBR150R in 2006 & it has been a fantastic little bike w/excellent handling, dependability, & fuel economy. It took a while to get used to riding it after riding a 1400cc Intruder V-twin for years, but compromises have 2B made to live in Thailand, but wasn't about to settle for 110cc step-thru scooter. I've had my CBR wide open at 140km/h (~87 mph) & the speedo may be off a tad, but... see part 2

@shummyshum That is called a tank protector. It is to protect the tank from scratches.

Part 2: ...I've been riding motorcycles all my life and it felt like it was going that fast. That said, I rode an almost new 2010 Ninja 250 & with it's 50% weight penalty ~375 lbs vs. ~250 lbs for the CBR150R, it just didn't feel any faster accelerating. A KZbin video of both drag racing confirmed my experience. Small frame ~120 lb. Thais regularly push their CBR150Rs to 160+ km/h indicated (100mph)with some minor mods. It seems the heavy CBR250R will suffer just like the Ninja 250 does.

@shummyshum I think you're talking about the tank pad. It's a sticker put on the tank to protect the paint from jacket zippers.

@cdnmotostar Actually being faster in a straight line is not depending on rider skill. It is depending on bhp, rolling resistance and aerodynamics.

This Honda Cbr250 Horsepower Is 24 With A Top Speed Of About 160km/h Depending On Your Wait Mayb 25 If You Eat The Throttle But The Old Cbr250 Had 45hp With A Top Speed Of 200 km/h . .. So lets see: Advantages of CBR250R: - ABS available - Digital Dash (with clock, fuel/temp gauge) - More modern design & better finish - Performance at low end (but not overall) Advantages of Ninja 250r: - Performance at top end and overall - Parallel Twin (vs single cylinder on the honda) - Handling - Suspension It seems Honda generally focus on finish and tech while Kawasaki focus on the ride itself. For me the Ninja wins overall but I do wish there was an ABS option.

@getshokin Great review, I'm in the market for one of the 250's, like you said, looks are subjective but the Ninja has much nicer -full- fairing. another consideration is the engine, for me, sound and feel are important and a single cylinder engine just doesn't have that smooth feel and sound to it, the Ninja's sound always makes me look back when one passes me. My dislikes are the Ninja's ancient looking instrument panel, a shame really. (but I will buy the Ninja ;) )

@getshokin Thank you for the reply! If you can please do push this bike to the max and let us know about the speed. Here in India you can book the bike right away but deliveries are going to start only by April 2011. The Honda guys here claim 26HP. Still waiting for the numbers.

@getshokin nice....too bad they dont make the cbr in naked form

Nice video! What the top the speed of this bike? The Indian Version is surely going to be detuned comapred to the US/ Thailand version. Here in India people want better Fuel economy so most of the bikes and cars are heavily detuned. Take the Honda Civic sedan its detuned to 128-130HP here in India.

wich one is the quickest to do the 0-60mph ? Cbr250 or ninja 250?? And I heard top speed of this cbr was around 160-165 km/h (must be around 100 mp/h i guess??) so what about the kawa?? Is this similar on the ninja? Thanks and great video! I appreciated :)
@leonoff8913 жыл бұрын
its also made in thailand just like the ninja 250 i saw one at the dealership and it is also made in thailand so right on par with the ninja and btw the north american ninja 250s are the only ones that are carbed everyone else theyre fi so the cbr250r isnt really better than the ninja
@TheShaun515013 жыл бұрын
the ninja is quicker but if you want to race then neither of these bikes will do the job or even last too long, the ninja rides smoother at high end speeds but the cbr changes gears smoother and has a better ratio for zooming around streets. the ninja is slightly bigger and heavier and doesnt have an lcd dash, only gauges. if you have never ridden before then the cbr is for you, if you have experience then it might be a bit "dull" and the ninja will be more of a challenge
@TheShaun515013 жыл бұрын
hmmmm why dont the bike dealers promote the fact that they can be used to race i wonder? it would attract more customers you would think; those people that would be thinking "yeh they look ok but too cheap to be a racing bike, i might wait til i can afford a 600"
@MrChazOMatic13 жыл бұрын
@getshokin and what did you replace it with? certainly not the cbr....im assuming.
