Buells are so much fun to ride. Just an awesome street sportbike. Tubers, xbs 1125s all the way to the 1190 beast. And every time I ride one of mine someone will always ask about it when I stop somewhere. Love em

I love my '09 1125R. People bash on Buell but it really is a gem. And parts really are not hard to find. Look into a company called Buelltooth. They sell a bluetooth dongle for the bike to flash the ECM and also sell a bolt on quickshifter kit. The bike is actually wired for quickshifter from the factory. 2 things to look out for on the 09 model: stator will eventually become fried due to inadequate oil cooling. Mine went out around at 20k miles. Rick's motorsports sells a great aftermarket one. Also, the clutch slave cylinder will likely start to leak. HD sells an improved one to fix the leak. This is all assuming previous owner has not already addressed these issues. Enjoy your new bike! The torque will have you addicted. -Kevin

There are far more people with them than against. Most people knowledgeable about bikes appreciate how great Buells are and then are die hard if they ever get the privilege of riding one. Harley has never made a worse decision. Both companies would be in a better place now if they weren't so stupid back then

I do not subscribe to a KZbin channel often but I did not hesitate to subscribe here. I ride a 2008 1125r and everything you say about yours rings true. The stories of rough running at lower rpm are carry over from the early production. One thing I would suggest, if you have not already done so, is to search out a HD dealer who sold Buells. I have been fortunate to find 2 and oddly enough those people who have been with Buell from the beginning in 1983 pass on knowledge about them which is based on facts. One salesman told me he has attended every single Buell seminar. One dealer principle told me that he rode every single Buell model and knows Eric Buell quite well. I entered one of the dealerships and was referred to the salesman mentioned above. He took me to the service manager who is obviously well acquainted with Buell. One of the first things he told me is that he has ridden a snowmobile with an 1125 motor in it, a one off, but also a reminder of all the snowmobiles out there with Rotax engines. My 2008 was assembled in July 2008, and according to the information I have been able to glean, there had been several ECM updates throughout the model year. He was about to take me to the service manager to book the bike in to check the current flash level when I informed him that I was driving my pickup and the bike was a 2 hour drive away. I just yesterday, while trying to find out if Jay Leno owns a Buell, learned about the Ronin47. Every Buell owner should learn about that amazing work of art.

I hope you still have the Buell and that you do a follow up video as to how much your perception of the bike has changed or stayed the same. If I were you, I would keep the bike. I have owned over 40 bikes in my life or riding (since Feb 1974) and I have found only one or two bikes that fit all my needs. Let us know if you still have the bike and if you feel it is a good purchase. I am looking at getting one (yes, I am in my 60s, but that does not matter if you keep yourself in shape).

I’ve daily ridden a white 09 1125r for almost 3 years all around Arizona and done all my own work on it, it’s half naked and yet still has a fairing for hitting 160+ mph. Such low maintenance, and all fairly easy to do. Not looking forward to the valve job but other than that, great to work on. Last week I went on a 160 mile trip around Phoenix hitting 150+ 3 different times throughout the ride and when I filled up, I put in 4.5 gallons of the 5.3 tank. That’s pretty incredible. The power starts low and pulls all the way. If you need or want more info I do t mind chattin. But I have 25,000 on mine now, the charging system is the only issue I’ve had to deal with, that’s a still a work in progress, but the ergos aren’t super aggressive so it’s easier to ride than many other super bikes.

I've owned a few Buells. My first bike was a Buell Blast 500. It was slow and I was bored with the lack of power after a few weeks of riding it. Never had an issue with the bike in about 1 year of ownership though. I traded it in on a Buell M2 Cyclone 1200. That was a fun bike. I put 10s of thousands of miles on it. Someday I might buy an 1125CR. I just bought a new, leftover 2019 Tracer 900 and found your channel from the review of that bike.
@thingswithed4 жыл бұрын
The tracer 900 is a fun bike. The GT is a purpose bike for carrying some stuff daily. And the Buell 1125R, it's a pretty wild ride. Nothing better than v-twin grunt power.

I have a xb9s and love it. It's not the fastest but it handles great, comfort to ride and easy to wheelie. Good low end torque that makes slow wheelies easy. A little clutch and up she goes.

These bikes are fast. So a little bit of work and I'm sure it will beat a lot of bikes.

@@Smokey223 I have an 1190sx. And yes it will beat anything up to 140 pretty easily. And I owned a zx14. The 1125s are very fast acceleration bikes well. Peak hp is never a number I look at. The actual power curve and torque curve tells the whole story. Buells just have excellent practical power for street use where u actually ride. Some of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden.
@Smokey2233 жыл бұрын
@@fvgc454ss I agree. I only have a xb9s but it handles really good and the torque is great for the country roads where I live. I have a kawasaki z900 to but I like my buell xb9s better. For wheelies the xb9s is awesome. Just a little clutch and it comes right up smooth. It doesn't junk up fast. I love my buell.
@fvgc454ss3 жыл бұрын
@@Smokey223 I also has an 09 xb12s with Dean adams pipe and tune. Ive had 20 sport bikes, had a cbr900rr right out the gate at 18 and 39 now. Always had liter bikes until I rode a firebolt in Tennessee n loved everything about it. The Xb12 lightning is my favorite funnest bike I own. I love everything about it. Handles on rails sounds awesome looks cool and plenty of practical street power. I wheelie the piss out of mine. Are the xb series bikes fast on the big end, no, they weren't meant to be, but 0-100 they are plenty fast and have enough torque to hang with anything. The EBR 1190sx is an Animal tho. That bike will crush most anything on the street but its definitely hard to commute on its want to go fast.
@grabir0111 ай бұрын
Bike only weighs 375 lbs. Wow!! No wonder it is so fast with 146hp and 80 torques. Hang on!
@basedWisco7152 жыл бұрын
These things do buck really badly at low rpm - with the stock ECM This one doesn’t buck because it’s been tuned for the exhaust. The IDS ECM turns this thing into a completely different bike 👍🏻 P.S.- don’t mess around with buelltooth. Just get (or keep) the IDS ECM for your exhaust and be done with it
@TheYakkis2 жыл бұрын
The intake gaskets need to be changed every three years or so. That's the number one cause of poor fueling at low rpms. If your bike runs poorly at low rpm, change your intake gaskets.

I’d get rid of that Buell, extremely hard to find any replacement parts for it since 3rd party parts companies didn’t make any parts for that bike. Only Buell made replacement parts and the stock is all dried up at the Harley dealers. Gonna have a hell of time finding parts if anything needs replaced/fixed.
