Also sure rare to find a youtuber where I don't need to turn on 2x speed to stay engaged.

Nearly every therapy session I've ever paid for has been less useful than this. Thanks for proposing some ways of processing that you've found useful. And explaining them the way they make sense for you. They're pretty applicable to me too - in ways that a lot of therapists just... aren't. Because what they had signed off on, as things they're allowed to teach people... just aren't a good fit for me. Or they're explaining it in ways that don't help. So... thanks. I appreciate you internet friend.

You have no idea how relatable the hair on the back of the neck thing is. Like recently i became suddenly extremely bothered by carpet on bare skin and im 35. I had to pretend this wasnt an issue because i cant just answer most people asking "whats wrong?" With "today i woke up and discovered the feeling of carpet makes my teeth hurt". I got over it just as suddenly but now i have a worry about it coming back

A tip from a lactose-intolerant yogurt lover: if you make your own yogurt, you can leave it to… ripen? Ferment? Culture? for longer so that the critters that turn the milk to yogurt can digest all the lactose, so you don’t have to.

Something that I have seen on the internet as a helpful tool for starting up again, and it seems to work about 3/4 of the time for me: set a timer for a short amount of time and get going with it. When the timer goes out, you can keep going, reset the timer for another check in session if needed, or set the work away and know that you have made progress on it. (Rewording the idea for how it works for me in real life terms.) I like that I tend to make forwards progress most times, and even reverse progress is a learning experience for what didn’t work out well that way. I hope that this helps you some, and Shalom as well!

Funny thing about parfait: my husband started recording TikTok videos about board games and he wanted a fun image to use when he said the word "layers." He asked me what I thought: parfait, of course! That's what he thought too, and was somehow surprised that I also came up with it. Parfait now also means "I love you" in my house. My brain has been doing similar weird things of late. I think your mental health dress project is glorious.

Jeesus Charlie, I feel ya. 😅 So many things that you just said are things that I have also struggled a LOT with and use the ecxact same coping skills for them. Those feelings are valid. I think a lot of people get stuck in qualifying if the "brainhurt" or "weirdness" comes from a valid reason without realising that it already is here. Some people drown in 3 meters of water and others drown in 3 kilometers. It does not really matter how deep the water was, the situation is still the same. You feeling weird is completely valid and the things that make you feel weird are valid. ❤ With realising that I am ADHD helped me to find more coping skills that work for my brain and not against it. 'Cause, in the end, if there is a way to do things that help your brain instead of hurting it, then why the heckity-hoo not? Might help anyone reading this too.

Oh that’s soo true, I was laying down watching this and I cannot feel my left hand pinkie and ring finger in the normal way, it’s like my fingers are in a glove you know it’s there you can feel it there but the outside is numb, so I’m forever trying to pull of a glove that does not exist and this time my finger nail on my pinkie was annoying me until I realised the darn nail was half an inch long😳 I have always kept my nails at 4mm at the max 2mm at minimum and here it was half an inch long. I hate filing that nail because I cannot feel it like my other fingers it’s like running your fingers down the chalk board 😭😭😭😭 at every stroke of the file. Arrrrrr

when your pile of fabrics will be ready to move back to your studio, you can take a chance and create digital version of your stash. it's rather easy to do via notion, but there're multiple cross platform tools out there i did this a while back and it saves me so much time when I'm planning the project! yes, with the amount of fabric you already have, the task could feel rather tedious but it's so worth it! you can create fabric cards with different properties, add pictures of a fabrics, group them by properties so than you can filthher them out (for example the type of a print - stripes/flowers/dots and so on), show how many feet you have left, whether you've washed it or not, whether it's knit or not, have you got a thread for the fabric - options are limitless! I'm sure with your love for a good table you'll love it too :) also the pictures can be shown in the main catalogue as a "card cover", properties can be shown as well and voila you have all of your stash right in front of you, like it's in the online shop :)

Just wanted to say thank you for the care you put into your captions! Some of the things you do, like specifying when it’s video-you or voiceover-you speaking (which is fantastic for lip-readers) go above and beyond what’s expected for professional captioners and I am incredibly grateful. If I could make a tiny request, though, do you think you could have the little [message] at the beginning/end as actual text on the screen? When the audio and captions don’t match, it (unintentionally!) assumes the viewer can hear well enough to tell the difference. I love the extra messages you leave in your videos, but the current format is less accessible to your deaf/HOH audience

Charlie, that dress is stunning! So simple, so clean, yet so stylish. I love that your fabric choice really puts the elastic to the fore. And that slight cross-over on the v-neck is inspired! And I also love how you're taking the time to take care of you... and your parfait. 😉

Yay for mental health! I love it when a simple project can help to reset the creative brain. And the way you explained talking through the layers of stress was super helpful. I will be using that technique in the future. Oh, and fruit. Fruit goes in a parfait.

My gosh I love watching…listening…to your videos. Today, was so deep and I LOVED IT! So, try this…next time you can’t find your keys. You are walking around the house, mentally thinking…keys?keys? Keys? Stop…say the words out loud…”where are my keys” and your brain will instantly go to the last time you used them and thus..where you put them. There does not have to be anyone in the house, a dog will do as a listener, but your brains NEEDS to hear the words. It is how some of us just work. You are loved, you are fantastic, you can do this!👍

😂 as soon as Charlie sneezed, i automatically said, "bless you." Charlie, we love the videos. Glad you made a dress that you love and is fancy enough for date night and soft enough to wear at home. Dresses that fit those criteria are some of my favorites to have and wear.

I definitely relate to so much of this. Between all of my big craft projects, working from home (so not leaving my apartment very much), not much opportunity to see friends in the area, and a partner who works a very stressful job, sometimes the brain soup gets a little too spicy. Thank you for articulating all of this in a way I haven't really been able to. I'm gonna make a small, fun crochet mushroom or something now

My favorite thing about dogs is that they don't seem to know what to do with their heads when getting cuddles. They just become an Adorable Wiggle Floof regardless of the amount of dog or the amount of fluff on the said dog. I love it. I may be missing my mother's dog just a little bit. Thank you for including the puppy in your videos edit: omg the puppy jumps!! They go boink!!! Just a straight up hippity hop! So cute

Three things: 1) I so needed this video right now. Thank you! My husband was laid off last fall and is working on some projects that may turn into a business which means he is in my space *all the time*. Every time I try to get some space for myself, something ends up messing up my plan. I have tried to pretend it is fine but in the end I get depressed and resentful. I had toyed with the idea today to set up a work area in the back of my car so I can drive somewhere pretty and work. I am realizing from your video I 100% have to do that so I can make a space that is only for me. 2) That dress is amazing! I know exactly what you mean about clothes that hug but don't squeeze. 3) The end of all your videos when you smile, twirl, and show off the project just elevate whatever you made 10x. Thank you for another great video and the brain talk. 🧠🤔

I’m also completely amazed that you feed my swoosh aesthetic so perfectly every time you make something. You’re pretty much my ideal fashion designer! 😂 Thank you for creating this little corner of the interwebs where I feel “normal.”

I think its kinda funny, kinda sweet all the AuDHD-ers are relating to this. Myself included. Idk if you have a diagnosis or care to get one but a lot of what you said is a very typical neurodiverse experience; looking into adhd might help you and your parfait brain a lot! Either way its good to know other people go through this, thank you for being so open, its nice to be seen

Hearing about how you need to figure out checkpoints before you can stop is sooo relatable. We I have a project that I know I can't finish in a single go, I write out checkpoints and try to just think of getting to the checkpoint as 'finishing' and not think of the larger project. It's hard for me to start if I don't think I can finish it in that go and it really helps. I also have issues with task switching so getting started can sometimes be my greatest hurdle.

I totally hear you on the feeling your hair thing, although for me when it kicks in I start feeling them all at the /root/, and that is...less avoidable. 🤣😭 The balance I've had to find is how to feel what I'm feeling, allow it to bother me, but continue on with what needs to happen while being in that headspace. It's a super-hard balance, because I'm absolutely a stiff-upper-lip type, but knowing how to exist alongside the not-great feelings and not let them affect other people too badly is really how I can keep going.

So glad to watch this! Sometimes when I am sewing I begrudge having to stop and drink water ( I am on medication that necessitates it). I was thinking the other day I should get one of those caps that could hold my cans of water and has straws so I could drink hands free and my sewing wouldn’t be interrupted. lol glad to see I am not alone!

The dress IS delightful and the crunchy mental state so relatable ❤. You should definitely make a skirt (or 3😂) with some of that elastic. It would be fantastic with some dark lightweight denim or black corduroy. It would also be useful as just a belt. You could easily slip the elastic band into a tube of any fabric to create a belt to match anything.

Thank you for frankly and openly discussing your mental health in public. More people need to do this. It helps destigmatize mental health issues, which we all have at some point to some degree. Way to use your platform for the greater good. That may not have been your aim, but that's one of the outcomes.
