The only negative side is it's very hard on gas, 550F is the engine that's in mine.

How many belts do you go through a season??? Pulling that much weight??? Nice video!
@HOTRhuntinontherock5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mooselippz my skandic is a 2017, i have just about 5000kms, and 50% of them are doing this kinda stuff and I'm on the same belt. Ofcourse 90% of the time my trails are either level or down hill.

@@HOTRhuntinontherock Thank you for the reply.I am in Thunder Bay Ontario, on Lake Superior.I was surprised at how much you were pulling, I have a 2003 550 Arctic Cat Pantera, and have never tired to pull that much... take care, stay safe! Moose.🦌👍

Wow , Im in the market for a new sled and have been bouncing ideas around as to which one to buy but you just helped me make my mind up. Those are amazing loads , Whats your thoughts on the Scandic ?
@HOTRhuntinontherock5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim'r this is my first wide track snowmobile, I got to tell you I'm very impressed with how easy this 20 Inch track skandic is to handle, turn and just get around in tight woods. For years I had a Skandic 440LT and I have no clue why BRP would EVER discontinue making that model, as much as I like my 550, for a trapper/single rider, the 440 Lt was hard to beat. I put 20000 km on the 440LT and never had any issues other than regular maintenance. My Skandic I have now is a 550,it as plenty of power , not a lot of speed, (I`m not into speed anyway) but I will say I hate that it is a little hard on gas. But fun to drive, warm, and lots of room.

Love your sleigh, did you build it??? If you made it I'd love to see a video on your design. I agree those wooden sleds are great but they weigh up pretty heavy. Thanks For Your Time: Shawn

Hi Shawn if i can get a chance i will make a quick video on my design, because yes i did build it,despite many old timers saying it will never work, ironically many have switch to the same style,lol

Gotta say, that’s the first time I’ve seen wood sleds like that, wood packed sideways lol. Looks like it works well. Does the sled slide from side to side much with the wide runners? Got me brainstorming now lol. Nice video pal!
@HOTRhuntinontherock5 жыл бұрын
Hi Curtis, i love it this way because the wood is easy to handle, its not a box style that many people uses, which you carry back in the woods nearly half the weight of what you bring out. Also using this style, unloading is very easy, The wide runners are 12 inches wide, but as you can see its not 12 inches of wood, many guy around where i live have up to 8 inches of wood, and ofcourse the bottom is covered with teflon . I have a long iron rod underneath each runner which keeps my sled from sliding from side to side
